Mr. Face: Another door? I hated doors. They sounded the same as walls typically, unless they had a higher or lower density. They were irritating. "Where did it come from?" I asked.

Alice: "I dont know. It just came out of the wall when I touched it."

((I don't believe that that's how the ME mansion works. It isn't likely that that door leads to a story, at any rate. You should look to Jacky for the official verdict, though.))

Mr.Face: "Oh. I see." I said, fully aware that this was a lie.

Alice: I rolled my eyes. "Can no one take a joke?" I asked and again rolled my eyes in distaste.

((Just to clear something up, Mr.Face was talking about his own lie...in that- he has no eyes, so how CAN he see? His lie by idiom. He wasn't talking about you lying...he has no real way to determine whether you are or not.

Mr.Face: There was a joke? How come I was not aware of this? "Joke? what joke?" I could go for some tomfoolery on a day like today...that...or you know...silence. In my office, with all of my computers running smoothly in the background, and My favourite talk to text translator asking if I meant 'dishsoap'. One of the two.

Alice: "Never mind.." I said in a whisper.

Mr.Face: Darn. I like jokes. Especially ones about people who end up dead. Or anti-jokes. Or, as I've said- Machinated silence. "So...What are we going to do about the door?" I asked. I did not much fancy going through the door...unless it was the one that took me back to the meeting I was suppoused to be at over an hour ago, at least.

Alice: I rolled my eyes not that he could see. "There is not a door." I said annoyed.

Mr.Face: "Oh. Ok...I apologise...for...not knowing that the existence of that door was the joke..." I said somewhat stiffly. If you say there's a door there, I really have no choice but to believe you- they don't feel different than walls in most places. It's irritating sometimes, being so reliant on others and ambient noise for a good read on what a place looks like. "I suppouse we ought to continue on then To...Forward." I suggested.

I looked around at the doors as we continued walking to Forward. They were all so...eclectic...? Something like that. They all varied wildly, at any rate. One thing that was really interesting was that each door had a place where you could watch scenes from what was supposedly inside. What was this mess of doors and hallways?
"Dis place is such an oddidy," I commented. "Is dis a poind where all worlds converge? Cud we go anywhere from here? Zjusd hao many worlds are dere?"
I didn't mention the most obvious question, of course.

((I'm rendering "ow" sounds differently in their accents from now on. This one better fits the sound that they actually produce.))

Mr.Face: More than one world? The idea was...somewhat terrifying to fathom. "So, you are implying that the whole hallway is comprised of doors, possibly to other universes?" I asked, just to clarify. "And NONE of you have ever heard of Auda...or...SInk Pump?" I suggested- Even though I harbour a deep seated dislike of the place, someone from that abomination of a city would be welcome in order to explain to me EXACTLY where I took a wrong turn off my own universe.
Although, other universes would explain the wolf, and the vampire, and the...The word was fox I think...what would the plural of that be then? Foxes? Foxen?

Alice: I looked at them confused as ever. "We should go into one of the doors" I offered to them. "See what happens."

"I dink dahd dey lead du oder universes," I said with growing conviction. "Bud nod like de universes where we come from... And no, I've never heard of Auda or SInk Pahmp."

Mr. Face: Well. This was lovely. None of them knew anything about what was going on. I was essentially just as lost in this place as the rest of them, which seems somewhat obvious, but I felt the need to put it out there in my mind."So, we need to find the man in charge of this place, and probably stay away from the doors...We all are probably needed in our own universes...I know that I am..." I stated things.

Alice: "How would u be needed? You had a meeting correct? What was it for?"

Mr.Face: "I run the entire city, the meeting was regarding the Rioting that has been going on in the streets over the past 3 weeks. I am suppoused to do something about it. I was going to propose delivering an ultimatum, and then dispatching poisonous gas. We don't have enough rooms in the prison anymore...The prisoners are overflowing into the torture chambers...We're burning people alive. It's just...not...sanitary." I summarised my situation briefly.

"Dahd sahnds awful!" I said. "And such a wasde of life...de Sybek cud be using dose..."

Alice: I nodded and felt ackward. "How did u let your city get that bad??" I asked not wanting to know the answer but asked anyway.

Mr.Face: "LET IT? Ha. The city itself is unnecessary to me. I don't really care what happens to the peasant masses, I just need their money. Basically I'm using them. They're just mad because I raised taxes again. They'll get over it. They always do." I shrugged indifferently. "If you have a better strategy for starving crowd management, please, be my guest." I said to the fox.

Alice: "Look maybe if you did what the people want you would get more money." I offered.

Mr.Face: Clearly this girl had not read any Machiavelli. "Well, how does lowering taxes generate revenue for me? It doesn't. The peasantry constantly regenerate anyway, and If they really wanted it then would just Join the Guard so that they could afford it. The lack of eventual fishing manufacturing would eventually starve them to death... but...Not my problem." I said.

Alice: I rolled my eyes. "Typical guy." I said

Mr.Face: "What?" I asked, confused by this statement.
