What Is Left After?

Aimery: I chuckle, throwing my bag into the room before I've even entered it. With my newly free hands, I turn on the light. "I guess it passes for clean," I say, wrinkling my nose.

Joseph: "That's a bit sad." I shrug, unzipping the bag. "And how am I supposed to know? Don't tell her, but I think she was just born like that."

Jelsa: "Better than the ground, I guess," I said.

Wayne: "Oh," I said. "Well, that's just how some people are, I guess."

Aimery: I shake a finger at her. "Not entirely true," I say, putting a toothbrush in my mouth. "I've slept on some wonderfully soft moss before." I take out a tube of toothpaste.

Joseph: I laugh. "I'm sure she's bearable. Some times of the day. She's mostly quiet, but the things that come out of her mouth..." I shake my head, smiling.

Jelsa: "Ah," I said but decided to brush my teeth and sleep too. And...now there was awkwardness.

Wayne: I laughed. "She's interesting, alright."

Aimery: I tap the sink for a moment, then sigh and get out my water bottle. "See if the tv works," I tell her, hoping but knowing it wouldn't.

Joseph: "Yeah, well. Most people are. Things like this change people. A lot of people died," I say, my hands turning into fists for a moment before I grab a cereal bar.

Jelsa: I tried turning it on, but nothing. "No, I'm not getting anything."

Wayne: I nodded. "I don't really remember what happened myself."

(You could find something weird in aimery's bag and ask her about it...lol. Like birth control pills. XD)

Aimery: I curse and shrug. "Oh well. At least the lights work. I don't like being blind. Can you get a candle out of my bag, just in case?"

Joseph: "I'm wondering if it was better to just die."

Jelsa: "Yeah, sure," I said and started looking around in it. I found a bottle of pills first, though. "Hey, do you need these?"

Wayne: I frowned. "I don't know. I'm not really suer what's going on."

Aimery: I raise an eyebrow. "Do you know what they are?"

Joseph: "The world is gonna take a long time to rebuild. People are stupid." I throw a pillow on a couch and try the tv. Nothing. "But we'll get there. Eventually. Right now all we need to do is survive."

Aargh... I was gone for so long......

We're at the hotel now.

(Hm...I guess I could try to rejoin this as well...sorry if it's a bit long, I have a habit of doing that. And if I messed up, ignore it.)
Roxanne: I lingered around in the lobby for a bit before I found an empty room. It was decent compared to the option of sleeping outside. There was only one window in the room, which was smashed. I peeked around, and choked down a scream when I stumbled upon a possum in the bathroom. It probably found it’s way in through the window. I slammed the door hard enough that anyone in the lobby, or the two rooms beside mine could most likely hear it.

(*hangs head* Oh god...I'm so weird...)

Aimery: I perk up, hearing a slam. "Oh, maybe someone's been murdered. Wanna check it out?"

Joseph: I raise an eyebrow, then frown. "Did you hear that?"

I place the water vessel on the ground and straighten up. "Rather warm, isn't it?" I remark, taking off my top hat and mopping my brow. "I call the floor," I say, taking off my waistcoat and rolling it up to use as a pillow. "Ah, that's convenient," I say, spotting my axe leaning up against the wall. "I was beginning to wonder who had that."

Joseph: I raise an eyebrow at him. "You could find a room," I tell Peter.

"Pff, rooms are for wusses. I've slept the past three nights in the open air, lying on my coat with my waistcoat as a pillow. I don't really care where I sleep, now." I shrug. "Besides, I'm too lazy to open the door."

Joseph: I shake my head at him. "It won't be my fault if you're sore when you wake up."

"I've got used to it. I woke up with a bad neck the first couple of days, but now I'm pretty much okay." I smile and laugh. It's a deep-throated, dog-snorting-cocaine chuckle. "Didn't you know? I'm made of weapons-grade titanium and dinosaur testosterone."

((It's true that I don't suffer too much when sleeping on the floor. I do for the first morning or two, but then I just get used to it and it stops hurting.))

Roxanne: I shuddered, knowing I would have to get that stupid possum out sometime. “This is when procrastination is the answer.” I muttered to myself. I stared at the door when I heard the hated creature scratching at it on the other side. I definitely wasn’t going to go up against that thing with the switchblade knife in my pocket.

(Yes, because that's perfectly normal. *rolls eyes*)

Joseph: I roll my eyes. "Because everyone wants to be made of dinosaur testosterone."

Aimery: I peek out the door. "Anyone need help?"

I stare at Joseph for a moment, with a slight air of disgust. "It was nerd humour," I say finally. "Which is like jokes, but not as funny."

Joseph: I shrug. "I don't know why people would tell jokes that aren't as funny."

Roxanne: I heard someone out in the hallway, and replied back, trying hard to stay calm and not yell, "Yes, frankly, I do, considering the fact there's a freakin' possum in my room."

Aimery: I let out a breath and grab my pocketknife. "Which room are ya in?"

"They're funny to people with the right mind set. Unfortunately no one has exactly the right mindset, so people each get different aspects of my humour." I stop for a moment. "Bloody hell, I'm starting to sound like Charlie Sheen." I look faintly appalled at this idea.
