Sound of Madness

Derek laughed and pulled her closer. "It's funny how you noticed. and yes, most guys would like touching a cute girl." He waited to see her reaction. He already knew she once had a crush on him. What would her reactoin be to him calling her cute?

"Mmhmm, so shoot," Dana said, studying his face.

Carly didn't let any of her thoughts show through. On the inside she was freaking out -- in a good way -- that he had just said that, but on the outside she was smirking. "Yeah, I get that a lot."

Derek nodded to and grinned. "I bet you do get that a lot." He was very tempted to kiss her right now. They were away from the others, so they wouldnt find out if he did...But he decided against it last second.

Carly couldn't hold her blush back this time, so she reluctantly looked away so he wouldn't see. "Mmhmm."

Derek smiled as he made her blush and finally let go of her hands and flipped back wards in the water to put some space between them.

Carly's face fell in disappointment, though she wasn't sure why. Derek had already made it clear that he didn't like her back...except now she was confused, since he called her cute. She sighed and pasted on a smile for when he resurfaced. "That was a weak backflip."

"Think you could do better?" He challenged, grinning at watching her.

"Probably not, so I'll save myself the embarrassment," Carly replied with a laugh.

"Oh, c'mon!" Derek laughed at her. "You cant just diss my backflip then not do one yourself."

"The thing is...I just did." Diss it and not do one herself, she meant. Carly smirked.

Derek shook his head and laughed. "You are so weird."

"But...it's not a bad thing, is it?" Carly cocked her head to the side.

"Or course not!" Derek laughed. "You are in a group of run-a-ways. Nothing is too weird for us."

"That's true." Carly laughed.

Derek thought for a second. Well, one thing was but he refused to bring that up.

"Why so quiet?" Carly studied his face.

"Just thinging. I do that everynow and then." He laughed lightly and smiled back to her. The urge to kiss her came back but he pushed it aside.

"Every now and then," Carly agreed. "Usually you're more...impulsive."

"True." He slashed her again then ducked under the water.

Carly ducked under, too, and opened her eyes even though it wasn't good for them.

derek waved to her under water and poked her sides again.

Carly kicked his stomach, then popped back to the surface. He had let all her air out again. She floated on her back instead of going back under.

Derek grabbed her leg and pulled her to him when he resurfaced. "That didnt exactly feel good." he chuckled.

"Never said it would, it's called revenge." Carly smiled.

"You do know i will have to get revenge for you revenge, right?" he asked, smirking.
