Sound of Madness

Dana shuffled through some things, looking for something she'd eat.

"Don't laugh at me." Carly punched him playfully in the arm.

Max: "I see some cereal..."

"I was only laughing at how cute you are." Derek grinned to her and kissed the base of her neck again.

"What kind is it?" Dana asked absentmindedly as she continued to look.

"Smooth," Carly said, rolling her eyes.

Max: "Raisin Bran."

"I guess it'll do. Let's eat that," Dana decided.

Max: "Well, we have to find milk first too."

"There's that." Dana went to the refrigerator and found some milk. "Got it."

Max: "Awesome. Now for bowls..." I opened a cabinet and pulled two out. I actually remembered to get two. Wow. Maybe I wasn't as self-centered as I thought?

Dana poured cereal in her bowl, then handed the box to him. Not because she wouldn't have poured it, but everyone liked different amounts. Then she poured milk in her bowl, too.

(I do love that boy. I'm just not very nice to him.)

Max: I dumped in my cereal, walked over to the silverware drawer, and got two spoons. Hey, I remembered twice in a row. That was good. I handed one to Dana.

(poor little max)

"Thanks." Dana took the spoon and her bowl then went to sit down.

(Yeahhh that might be why he doesn't like me.)

Max: I went and sat down next to Dana and started poking at my cereal a little before finally eating it.

Dana ate little bites at a time. She really wasn't that hungry.

"Would you rather me say that I laughed at you because of your wording?" Derek asked her, and eyebrow raised.

Max: Raisins were awesome. I spent extra time chewing mine. We were eating in silence, but I was okay with it. I was used to silence.

"So...you're saying you lied," Carly said. "You laughed because of the wording."

(max is kind of strange)

Dana didn't like silence, though.

Instead of answering her question, derek kissed her again to change the subject.

Carly pulled away, though. "Don't try to kiss me to make it better that you lied." She wasn't actually mad or annoyed really, though.

"Alright...arlight. I'm sorry." Derek sighed, and pouted slightly with puppy-dog eyes in a joking way. "Forgive me?"

"What do you think?" Carly laughed and kissed him again.

Derek smiled and rubbed her back again. "Good. It would kill me to know you were mad at me."

"Only since today..." Carly said.

"Well...yeah." Derek laughed lightly. "At least I care?"

Carly's mouth twisted around into a half-frown. "Yeah...I guess." She untightened her legs and let herself fall back into the water.
