Sound of Madness

Derek just snorted and shook his head. he didnt have an opinion because he wanted what she thought was best for them. Or atleast didnt want to argue with her.

"What does that mean?" Carly said.

"Nothing." Derek muttered. "I just dont want to argue with you. Thats why i dont have an opinion."

"That's... stupid," Carly said with a frown. "But whatever." She stood up.

"I'm a stupid person sometimes." Derek shrugged. He was stupid for letting what happened between them get as far as it did. He should have realized that it would only bring trouble.

(what does he mean "what happened between them?" The kissing?)

"We all are," Carly mumbled, not even sure what to say anymore.

(yeah....man Derek, just come to your senses!!!! Why are you so stupid! *smacks Derek*)

Derek just shrugged back and looked out to the yard. He turned on his music again and leaned back on the swing.

(D: I can't even keep track of what they're fighting about anymore)

Carly looked at him, he moved on just like that? What the hell? He really didn't care at all...A tear played at the corner of her eye but she turned and went into the house.

(neither can i...Stupid Derek. stupid cold hearted derek. I feel like he's PMSing...)

Derek saw the tear come out of the corner of her eye and sighed. He'd apologize later when he wasnt so made at the world.

(bleh. Should we skip to later when he's "not so mad at the world?" xD)

Derek went back into his room a little later and attempted to take a nap. he had calmed down a lot since his small fightish thing with Carly.

Carly was attempting to read again, at least the strain took her mind off of Derek.

Derek drummed along to the song against the wall with his hands.

But Carly grew tired of not being able to understand the words, so she picked up a magazine. But there were all these shots of couples, which just made her feel sick.

(is she going to come to apologize to him or not? because i am running out of things to stall with)

Dereks iPod had started to run out of battery so he put it down to charge.

(no, now she's mad because she thinks he doesn't care either way.)

(great...i know dere wont try to apologize again...hmmm)

(-rubs beard- xD -thinks- but up there you said he'd apologize later when he wasn't so mad at the world...?)

(yeah...kinda forgot about that...lol. For some reason, i thought you said that....i blame it on the lack of sleep i got last night.)

Derek sighed and got up from his bed. With nothing better to do, he went across the hall to Carly's room. "hey..carly?" He asked soflty, knocking on the door.

(and lol, nothing better to do? good thing she cant' read her thoughts)

Carly glanced up from her magazine when she heard his voice and rolled her eyes. She was calmed down, but she was still annoyed as soon as she heard him speak. "What?" She said, not opening the door but staying on the bed.

Derek opened the door and glanced in. "I'm sorry." He didnt know what, but he had learned that when dealing with Carly, it was best to say you were wrong and juts apologize for it.

(that's a good lesson when it comes to her, nice observation xD)

"For what?" Carly said, looking back down at the magazine and flipping a page. Her lips were pursed slightly and her expression was blank otherwise.

"For anything I said that hurt you." Derek sighed.

(lol, its a lession all guys she learn when dealing with girls.)

"It wasn't anything you said, it was everything you /didn't/ say. I tried to talk to you about whatever it was ... and you didn't even contribute to the conversation. It was like talking to a brick wall," Carly said all in a rush then took a deep breath and looked back down at the magazine, trying to reconstruct that air of uncaring, but it was hard to do.
