Sound of Madness

Max: I raised an eyebrow. "Mmhm...? Like what?"

"Like who you matter to, what do you think I was talking about?" Dana rolled her eyes.

Max: "I dunno...I really have no idea..."

(Max = dumb )

"It doesn't matter then, if that person doesn't matter to you, then why should you matter to them?" Dana said.

Max: I sighed. "You sound like my old friend."

(dun dun dun melly)

"Who?" Dana said, her brow furrowing.

Max: "Just...an old friend of mine."

"Does she have to do with you running away?" Dana asked.

Max: "Sorta..." Yes but no...

"Oh. Well that's none of my business, anyway. I was going to .. do that thing in my room...remember?" Dana got back on track.

"Oh," Demi sighed. "Well that makes me feel a bit less loved," She laughed lighlty and laid back on the ground. Her head rested at his feet and she looked up at him.

Devon looked down at her, and strangely enough didn't move his feet. Maybe he was starting not to mind Demi, after all. "Your loved. I never said I had invited a LOT of girls to play videogames, did I? Or tried to make people feel better when they were afraid of a storm."

Max: "Uh...yeah...? Right?"

Dana sighed and turned to got to her room.

Demi smiled at what he said. "That was very nice of you to do last night. Thank you." She said softly.

Devon shrugged. "You reminded me of my little sister, and I'd do anything for Carly."

(bad move, Devon, lol. no one wants to be compared to a little sister)

"Oh. Ok." Demi laughed lightly, but her mood fell ever so slightly. A little sister? Thats not what she wanted to be compaired to.

"I mean, you're not a little sister, though...I don't know what I'm saying," Devon mumbled.

"I can tell," Demi laughed lightly and looked back up to him.

"Shut up," Devon mumbled, glad it was dark because there was heat in his face.

This made Demi laugh harder. She pulled her flash light out of her back pocket and shined it upward, but not in his face, to see him more clearly. "Aww, is someone blushing?" She teased him.

"No, must be the lighting," Devon mumbled, looking away.

Demi stood up and studied him closer. "Nope. You, my good friend, are blushing. But thats ok, its cute."

Devon smiled, but then it turned to a smirk. He quickly kissed her cheek, then stepped back in case she got mad. "How's that for cute?"

Demi felt her own cheeks flush and turned her back to him to hide it. "Thats...um...very...yea..." She stammered out, not finding the words she wanted. She liked that he kissed her cheek.
