Derek felt horrible once she left but didnt let it show. He put out the ciggarette with his foot and sighed.

(-smacks Derek- jerk. Carly isn't apologizing this time)

Carly curled up on her bed and cried into her knees.

Derek walked into the kitchen and grabbed a glass of milk. He could her her sobbs through the thin walls of this house and sighed.

Carly didn't care who heard.
She couldn't believe she'd wasted so much goddam time on him.

(Derek: Why is everyone smacking me? *glares*)

Derek groaned and poured a glass of milk for her, heated it up and added some chocolate. He went upstairs and walked into her room without knocking. "Look, carls...I'm sorry. I didnt mean what I said out there. I'm just mad...not at you but at myself." He told her softly, offering the hot chocolate.

Carly took the cup and promptly dumped it's contents on his head. "I'm sure you are sorry," She hissed.

(let's pretend it's not hot enough to actually, ya know, do damage. o.o)

"Ok. I guess I deserved that." Derek sighed when the hot contents poured down his shirt.

"You did," Carly said, gulping and trying not to laugh. "Now fucking go away."

Derek rolled his eyes. "Why do I even try." He muttered to himself before leaving.

Demi woke up in devons arms, only covered by a sheet. She blinked a couple times as she woke up.

"Well you can't just say all those horrible things to me and then expect me to forgive you by bringing me /hot chocolate/!" Carly said.

Devon stirred after she did and smiled sleepily. "Hey there, beautiful."

Derek clenched a fists. "At least I'm trying!" He shouted at her, his anger flaring. "thats all I have ever done with you. Is try. Try to make you happy. I went slow for /you/. But aparently, that was wrong for me to do. It was wrong for me to care."

"Hey." Demi smiled up to him. "That was very...uh...interesting." She commented softly, a smile on her face.

"You just spent twenty minutes telling me you didn't care! Saying you /didn't/ love me!" Carly said, having never been able to yell, her voice stayed about the same.

"Interesting?" Devon's brow furrowed. "Is that good or bad?"

"I dont even know why I am here. You are just a pain in the neck. Nothing is ever good enough for you, is it?" Derek demanded.

"Good." Demi leaned up and kissed him gently. "Very good."

Carly's mouth worked without words and she stumbled back a step, even though he hadn't pushed her. She felt like the wind had been knocked out of her, even though she hadn't come into contact with anything. "I...No, that isn't true."

Devon chuckled and kissed her back a second before pulling away and pulling on his clothes. "Good."

"oh, it is very true. I go to fast and you freak out. I go to slow with you and you dump me. I yell at you and you spaz. I try to fix what i did wrong and you dump hot chocolate i made for you on me. Nothing is good enough for you." Derek snarled at her.

Demi wrapped a sheet around her as she got up to find her clothing. She couldnt believe she just did that.

"I didn't dump you because you went too slow!" Carly scoffed, her voice rising just a little.

Devon tossed Demi her clothes, having seen her looking for them.

"Then why did you? Please enlighten me." Derek challanged her.

"Thanks." Demi smiled to him slightly and caught the clothing. She pulled it on quickly and pulled her messy hair into a bun.

"It just...wasn't working out," Carly said uncomfortably.

"Your hair looks pretty like that," Devon commented.

"Uh huh. Please explain." derek raised an eyebrow to her.

Demi blushed slightly and bit her lower lip. "Thanks."

"It doesn't matter. I already did it, it's done, why keep talking about it?" Carly said, looking at her feet.

Devon chuckled at her blush and stood up. "We should probably get back to town."

"Because I want to hear your reasoning." Derek told her sternly.

"yea, probably." Delilah grabbed her jacket and pulled it on. She still couldnt believe that she did that with him.

"Honestly, I don't even know anymore," Carly said with a heavy sigh. "I was just being my admittedly bitchy self, probably. I felt bad about it right after...."

"Are you okay?" Devon asked seriously as they left. She seemed dazed, like something was on her mind.

(dammit! I always do that. )

Derek just shrugged at what she said. "Doesnt seem like that good of a reason." He turned to leave.

"Huh? Yea. Perfectly fine." Demi smiled to him.

"But it doesn't matter, right? Because I'm never happy with anyone. So you don't have to feel like you did anything wrong. You don't have to feel bad that you lied about loving me," It was all a tad sarcastic until the last part.

"If you say so," Devon said. "Hey wait, shouldn't you stay here? Since I just have to go home...unless you have business in town."

"Right." Derek nodded as he left the room to go to the bathroom.

"True." Demi leaned up to him and kissed him softly. "Love you."
