"bah, you got the wrong job then, girly. I like to talk,". I say

Hunter watched him thoughtfully. She had liked to talk once. There use to be a time you couldn't get her to shut up. "What do you like to talk about?"

"whatever's on my mind. And right now that's how quiet you are.".

Hunter watched him and couldn't help a smirk. "I didn't use to be quiet. There was a time you couldn't get me to shut up."

Caleb
Ah so she does have more of a hidden personality... "really? What would you talk about all day?"

Hunter shrugged. "Anything and everything under the sun." She watched him. "I've talked everything from swords, to hairstyles, to fashion, to relationships, to books. anything really."

Ben chuckled, shaking his head. "Bennet," he muttered. "Who in their right mind would name their kid Bennet?" Sighing, he bent down and took out the pizza, setting it on top of the stove.

Lorrick shook his head, rolling his shoulders slowly. "No way am I going to let you go by yourself," he said, gesturing to the door. He gave a small smile to ease her worries. "I'll be fine. I've dealt with worse."

Kylia bit the inside of her lip but nodded and took his hand as she grabbed her guitar case and walked down the stairs and out into the night. "Do you know where Oak street is?"

Lorrick wrapped his fingers with hers as he looked down at her and nodded. "I think so. Why?"

"Because that's where we are headed. It's the club over there. It's the quiet one where they do mostly slow songs. Not nearly as much gyrating." Kylia said as she waited for him to point the way.

"Alright," Lorrick said, starting in the direction of the club. He was scanning the streets with more focus than usual, the mere thought of anything happening to Kylia putting him on edge.

Kylia walked beside him happily, not afraid of the dark with him around. It didn't seem to take them long and they were at the club. She reluctantly let go of his hand and went to the boss, letting him know she was there. He told her to start whenever she was ready and she shrugged, a little nervous that he didn't give her a list of songs.

Lorrick stood by the stage, his arms crossed over his chest. He scanned the crowed, looking for anything - anyone - off.

Kylia took the microphone and told everyone there was a paper by the stage if they wanted to request a song. She then took out her accoustic guitar and hooked it up to the speakers, pulling a stool over to the microphone. She licked her lips and glanced at him nervously. She wasn't use to small joints like this. She took a deep breath and started to play, the band behind her catching on.

Lorrick glanced up at Kylia, a small smile on his lips. Her voice floated down to him, making him feel as if she was singing to him. He mentally slapped himself, his eyes darting around the joint again as he made himself focus on protecting her, focus on her safety.

Kylia kept singing, flowing from one song to the next with only a small break inbetween. She switched out her guitar for one of the electrics that they had and then resumed for about another ten songs. She finally got to take a break and sat down next to Lorrick looking tired. "Got some water?" she asked with a small smile, her voice starting to give out a little.

Lorrick handed her a bottle of water, smiling. "You're doing great up there," he said honestly.

Kylia smiled and blushed slightly as she took a long drink of the cold water. "I hope so. I get paid for this." She said with a soft laugh and sighed. "Only two more hours." She set the bottle down and went and took her place again and started up another song. As she neared the end of the two hours, she decided on a last song and looked over at Lorrick and winked as she set her guitar down and grabbed hold of the mic.

Lorrick grinned, his eyes on her face as she sang. When she was finished, he clapped along with the rest of the crowd, the smile still on his lips.

Kylia smiled widely and took a bow. "Thank you everyone, have a goodnight." she said and turned and packed up her things and walked over to Lorrick. "How was that?"

"Well now. What made that disappear? Seems like a nice habit you had to get rid of."

I give a small smile, getting up to help. "I'm afraid I can't really relate. My name had been Emily," i say as i find a cabinet with plates and take two out.

Hunter stared at him for a minute and then let her eyes drop to the ground, the impassive mask coming back into play. "Just things." She murmered, memories of old charges flooding into her mind.

I quietly watch her a moment. "Want to talk about said 'things'?" i ask her, leaning back in the chair.

"I.." Hunter stopped for a moment. "I got in trouble..alot..for talking when I was with my first three charges. And..punished accordingly." She still didn't look at him. "I was told Angels were not to ask why or talk until spoken too. Angels were only to do, and die." Her voice was quiet the whole time, little more than a soft whisper.

I give her a small smile, standing. "Hey, chin up. That's not the case here, alright? I'm not going to punish you for anything." Moving next to her, i lean down to look her in her eyes. "Alright?" I ask her, raising an eyebrow.
