The Facility

Cole frowned at the thorn, "Let go of the light." He muttered, lighting his right hand on fire. "This will keep them away for a little bit of time. " He grasped the thorn with his other hand then looked to her. "What did she plan on doing with this...." He glared at the thorn, then gave a tired smile to Jess. "Thanks Jess, I'm sorry I don't check her room more often."

Brandon held her tight, "Why lie about that?" He whispered glancing around. "Never mind, come on." He started forward, holding her close.

The door at the other end of the hallway, a long ways down, opened slowly, pale light filtering in. The slender form of a girl stood silhouetted against the light.
"Brandon?" called Moira, blinking in the darkness. "Is that you? What're you doing in here?" She walked slowly forward, as if with a slight limp. "Who's that?"

Brandon grinned, "Hello Moria." He walked forward, keeping Kylia close. "This is my friend Kylia. As for why I'm here, do you mean back in the facility or in this hall?"

Kylia stared wide eyed, clinging to Brandon. She hadn't expected anyone to be there.

Jess let the light go and groaned slightly, closing his eyes. "I'm not sure. My shadows found it." He muttered and slid out and away from her, standing up. He ran a hand through his hair and sighed, fighting to keep his eyes open. "Those ghosts are getting stronger I think." he muttered.

Cole nodded, "I agree. Things like this used to happen maybe once a month, but now its weekly. I'm worried about her." He admitted quietly then glanced at Jess. "You need to rest, I'll watch her for a bit."

Moira set her hands on her hips, blonde hair trailing down past her waist with no trace of the previous insanity that had gripped her. "The hallway, you dummy. I thought I was the only one who knew about it." She then turned to Kylia. "Hi there, I'm Moira. Moira Wilkinson. It's nice to meet you, Kylia. Now come on," she nodded to the open door behind her. "No use standing around in the dark."

Brandon chuckled, "Coming." He walked into her room, still holding Kylia close. "I learned of it a few days before I got released, didn't get a chance to explore much of it."

Moira held the door open for them as they emerged onto a smallish balcony overlooking the lake. "I don't think this place should technically exist, which is why they've got the panels. So I sort of took over and made it my own." Sweeping her arm around, she twirls gently, the white dress floating out around her. All over the place are flowers, lilacs, roses, lilies, foxgloves, marigolds, daffodils, tulips, you name it. "Do you like it?"

Brandon chuckled, "Yeah, its beautiful."

Kylia looked around speechless, still keep hold of Brandon, her fingers almost white from holding on to him so tight, her mouth clenched shut.

Jess nodded. "Alright." He murmered and sighed. "What do you think we should do?" he asked as he stopped by the door.

Brandon smiled down at her, "You okay?"

Cole glanced between him and Jess sadly, "I don't know Jess, I just don't know. I'm afraid one of these days neither of us will catch her in time." He walked over and sunk to the ground by her bed.

Jess frowned as he watched him. "We could try the shadows again.." he offered hesitantly.

Kylia looked up at him and gave a slight nod and quickly let go of him.

Cole glanced up, his expression unreadable. "That didn't work to well last time, for either of you."

Jess nodded and sighed. "It was just a thought." He said as he looked down at the ground. "We have to think of something." He muttered and started off towards his room.

Cole put his head in his hands after Jess left. He knew something needed yo be done. They couldn't go on like this.

Jess made it to his room, but never made it to his bed. He was passed out on the floor before he could even get more than a few steps from the threshold.

Kalya woke suddenly, one of the good ghosts touching her mind. Cole was snoring beside her bed and she slipped out and snuck down the hall.

Jess was still passed out, part of his legs in the hall.

Kalya gasped and pulled him into his room then barely managed to get him into the bed. Still exhausted she climbed in next to him without a thought and curled up at his side before falling back asleep.

Jess woke and jumped slightly when he saw Kayla asleep next to him. He stared at her for a minute before his head dropped back on the pillow and rubbed his face.

Kalya murmured his name in her sleep and cuddled even closer.

Jess looked down at her and raised a brow. Did she just say his name? He rubbed her back gently and sighed, looking at the door, almost expecting Cole to come through the door and burn him for laying with his sister. He closed his eyes and sighed trying to think as he tried to not fall asleep again.

Kalya opened her eyes and blinked. Where was she. When she saw Jess her memory came flooding back and she blushed.

Jess heard her breath quicken and looked over to make sure she wasn't having a nightmare. Instead he found her eyes staring back at him with color in her cheeks. He gave a half smile and watched her. "Well hello there."
