C. D. - character development

Jacob:
I sigh. I put my hand on the back of my hand and when I bring it back in front of me I am holding a small blue microchip. "Say hello to my on board AI. This is Jenna. Does anyone have a cell phone or something"

Andrew's eyes grew wide. "That's....amazing!" he said, appearing next to the chip.

"Idoit..." muttered Ezra, smirking.

Jacob:
"GODDAMN! Stop doing that!" I say when Andrew appears. "Cell phone? Anyone?"

"Do what?" asked Andrew, looking up.

"I do," said Ezra, "though it's off, in my pocket, and I highly doubt you'll get reception here. Why?"

Leslie

"Very likely as a means for Jenna to speak to us," I said. "Is that right, Jackal? And you, Ezra, are incredibly slow-witted."

"I am not!" said Ezra defensivly.

"Are too!" laughed Andrew, and so began the "are not, are to fight." Liz sighed transforming back into a dragon. She swung her tail around, making Ezra and Andrew fall to the ground.

"Both of you...shut up! Please!"

Jacob:
"You are correct demon. Jenna go ahead" I say. The slight blue glow from the chip dissapears and Ezra's phone starts to get the same glow coming from the screen. Then from the screen a 3D holographic image of a blue woman about 16 appears.

Jenna:
I stand there and look around at them. My sensors picking out distinguishing features such as scars or tattoos... or scales. I blink a few times getting used to the phone's code then I say, "Hiya, I'm Jenna. How's it going?"

Ezra reached int his pocket, taking out the phone and putting it on the ground. "Here, that may be easier."

Andrew gapped at Jenna, "Thats...how...how are you doing that?"

"It's a hologram," Liz explained.

Jenna:
"No, its a screen" I say to Liz. "I am using the screen to make a holographic projection, and I am an AI not a hologram. I am also using the phones camera and screen to bend the light around the phone to make the" I look pointedly at Liz, "holographic projection"

"Oh well...you know what I mean."

"No...no I really don't." Andrew said, shaking his head in confusion.

Liz sighed, resting her head on her claws in dragon form. "It's hard to explain Andrew. You just got the summary from Jenna, and you get some of the things you've learned." She hadn't expected to explain something this complicated to him.

Leslie

"And yet again," I began, "this is your fault for not keeping with the times. Or moving on. This technology really isn't hard to grasp at all!"

"Sorry...I did learn and see somethings...like the beatles...they had good music..." Andrew sighed.

(Rofl)

Jacob:
"What are the Beetles?" I ask, "Aren't they that ancient classical music group?" I ask.

Jenne:
"They performed rock n roll in the nineteen sixties" I explain.

Jacob:
"They sound classical"

Leslie

"No, dear," I said. "Classical is a completely different style. For the record, just because something is old doesn't mean it's classical; it's merely old. Rock 'n' roll is still rock 'n' roll, no matter how old it is. Classical music is the genre, not the age."

((Oh hey! It's Cortana.))

"Witchcraft!" hisses Ventrix. "What new devilry is this?"

"I'm not that old," Andrew snapped at Jacob, "yeah, I'm more then a century old but still."

Ezra looked at Ventrix, "It's not witchcraft, it's science."

Jacob:
"Yeah, science... and a little bit of cheating" I say chuckling guiltily.

Jenna:
I glare at Jacob.

Jacob:
"And ghost person, if you were still there in my time, you would probably be over 600. And like from that stupid book from the 21st century, I think it was called Twidawn or something, anyway, there is nothing more pathetic than a 100 year old guy who is single"

"My name is Andrew, get it right! And well....." Andrew paused, looking at Liz.

Jacob:
"Oh! You like a living person? I don't really see how that will work out. Besides what about Ezra?" I say.

Jenna:
"Don't try to hurt his feelings Jacob!"

Jacob:
"Its Jackal when we're in the field"

Andrew sighed, sitting next to Liz, who was still in her dragon form. "It's fine till she tells me, I have to move on. Then Ezra showed up one day...."

Liz turned her huge head towards him, she gave him a sad look. "But you do. You can't stay here anymore."

Jacob:
"Oh! You guys are so sad! Boo hoo!" I say sarcastically. "Wanna know what happened to my girlfriend? She got eaten by a werewolf!" I snap. "Jenna show them the footage from my helmet feed"

Jenna:
"What? Are you sure? Its seriously gruesome!"

Jacob:
I look at Jenna and say "Yeah"

Jenna:
I nod and disappear from the phone. Instead I am replaced by the face of a girl about 15, Jacob's age. She is smiling. Then the feed zooms out and shows she is holding a gun and is in full combat fatigues. Her smile suddenly fades. The camera feed swivels around to look behind whoever is holding it. A jet black werewolf is crouching on a cliff a few feet up. We hear Jacob say, "What the hell! This is supposed to be vamp territory, I don't have any silver" The werewolf jumps. It lands on top of the girl. She screams in pain and terror as the werewolf tears into her flesh with animal like ferocity but human like malice. The last thing she says before she dies is, "Run" she wheezes it through the blood filling her lungs. Jacob doesn't move he is frozen to the spot in horror. The beast tears the girl's head off and flings it behind it. Her head rolls to the feet of the person wearing the camera. Looking back up at the beast it is now facing the camera blood covering it from head to toe a bit of the girl's flesh hanging from its mouth. Behind it is the mangled corpse of the poor girl. Her chest cavity is completely empty. Her arms and legs have been torn off. She is headless. The sight of the body would make anyone sick. The beast charges. The person wearing the helmet turns and runs. The camera feed goes black.

Jacob:
After the feed has ended I realize tears have filled my eyes. I almost start sobbing. Instead I wipe away the tears and just stand there.

Andrew sat there dumbfounded, "That's...horrible."

Ezra looked away, he couldn't watch that. Liz looked upset.

"I'm so sorry," she whispered, "that's just terrible."

Jacob:
"Yeah, that was before I was Machinae. Her name was Jenna. If I had been Machinae at the time I would have torn the Were's head off" I say solemnly.

"Is...is it that Jenna?" Andrew asked, pointing to the Jenna that was here.

Jacob:
"No, they tried a consciousness transfer, mostly because I demanded it. She had been dead too long. It was unsuccessful. Before you can get an on board AI they take your consciousness and put it into a machine and you and the AI that has chosen you share memories and feelings. In the end the AI picks a name for itself and becomes your constant companion and friend. AI stands for Artificial Intelligence, and the intelligence part really holds true. I don't know if they have souls or not but most AIs I meet tend to act like humans. After Jenna and I did our consciousness mixture we both woke up. Her in the micro chip in my mind, me in my body. She informed us that she would be called Jenna. At first I nearly exploded with anger. I was against her naming herself after the person that had been closest to my heart. After a while, I was glad of the reminder. It meant I would never forget her. I was glad for that, now Jenna and I are best friends"
