((He's going to do his best to provoke Jacob, and while Ventrix is a deadly swordsman, he isn't bulletproof.))

Jacob:
"Excuse me?" I say menacingly, "Jenna, did he just say what I think he just said?"

Jenna:
"Um... if that is saying that you are now a subject of his empire then yeah" I say not wanting it to happen but knowing it will.

Jacob:
"That's what I thought" I say.

"I'm glad you understand," says Ventrix. "You do have a choice in the matter, of course. Join the Norlan Empire, or remain free."
He slides his sabre a few inches from its scabbard.
"Free, that is, to stand against the might of the Norlan Empire."

Jacob:
I pull a Scar H off my back and say, "You wanna see how easily one man falls to the power of a Scar H?" I ask.

(The Scar H is this

((That's a form of combat shotgun, isn't it? Correct me if I'm wrong.))

"One man dies easily," says Ventrix. "As we will now see."
He draws his sabre.

(Assault rifle, its pretty much the same as the FN Scar)
Jacob:
"Well then" I say, "How do you wanna go?" I ask, "Bullet to the brain? Or do you just want to be full of holes?"

((Oh yeah! Of course. Sorry.))

"With my blade through your stomach. Is that acceptable?" Ventrix draws his sabre and lunges forwards in one swift motion.

((Don't kill him straight off, he deserves a noble death.))

(Okay)
Jacob:
I jump back dodging the sword. I look down at my arm. My silver blood is streaming back inside my arm. "Hmm," I say, "That was pretty close. Let's make this a little fun shall we?" I say. I put the Scar back on my back and I draw my long Bowie knife.

"Ah, good," says Ventrix. "Although your blade is unsuited to duelling."
Ventrix feints, swinging the sword in a wide, clumsy blow at Jacob's head. At the last moment he draws the sabre sharply back and launches a lightning thrust at Jacob's stomach.

((The character I intend to bring in next should get along quite well with Jacob: they both have a roughly similar job.))

Jacob:
The blade goes through my stomach and I wince. "Ow, I'm gonna need a new stomach after this fight and maybe another kidney" I say as I walk up the blade until the hilt is pressed against my stomach. My nanobots could keep me going for maybe a day or two but after the damage I had just sustained without new organs I would die. I raise my Bowie knife and swing it at Ventrix's arm.

Ventrix tugs on the hilt of the sabre, but it refuses to come free. His eyebrows rise in panic, which becomes more pronounced as the bowie knife guts a long, deep gash in his right arm. He stumbles backwards, clutching the spurting wound. He lets go and draws a pistol with his left hand. he levels it at Jacob's head and fires. Well, he tries to level it at Jacob's head. Not only is his aim poorer with his left hand, but he is also losing blood fast. The lead shot whizzes past Jacob's right ear.

Jacob:
"Wow, that was close" I say. I grab his sword by the hilt and pull it from my stomach. It hurts like, well like pulling a sword out of your stomach. "Cautorize" I command my nanobot blood. I hear a voice in my head, Jenna.
"The damage sustained is only localized to your stomach. Stiching the wound has begun" I was surprised. I didn't need a new stomach after all. I hold the sword in my right hand. I then hurl it as hard as I can at Ventrix.

The sword goes straight through Ventrix's right lung. He falls to his knees, gurgling. After a moment of struggling and wheezing, he drags himself to his feet. He pulls the sword from his chest, and would scream in pain if he still had the strength. He levels his sabre at Jacob, standing side-on. Slowly he topples forwards, still holding his sabre out to the side. He hits the ground and doesn't move.

(Is he dead?)

Jacob:
I walk over to Ventrix. I pull my Desert Eagle from its holster and level it at his head. I look down at him, my face expressionless.

Now we have two choices. I can either bring in Screwfoot, who is a socially unbalanced monster hunter, or I can bring in Johnny, the WWI Tommy who has fought dragons.
