"It does if you have only just got here," says Ventrix. "Two days ago the most cutting-edge technology was the Sea Fortress. Admittedly she is the terror of the high seas and a work of engineering unparalleled by anything here, but she runs on steam! I have no idea what half of these things you talk about are."

Leslie

"Well, that's a very good excuse," I told Ventrix. "Andrew, however, has no good excuse. Which is part of why I have a very low opinion of him, especially on an intellectual level."

"How is it harder?!" I asked with a sardonic laugh.

Andrew glared at Leslie, "You cling to your past and you'll go insane. If you try.to keep up with the present, the same thing will happen."

Leslie

"...That's a load of bullshit," I concluded. Seriously, what the Hell was he saying?

"Really? Then you haven't seen the ghosts I have..."

Leslie

"I've seen plenty of ghosts!" I told him. "And none of them are like you said."

"So has Liz, and she found this surprising. The insane ones...are what people would call a "residual haunting" and some are worse than that."

(A residual haunting is a haunting that repeats it's self almost like a tape recorder on replay, i.e. foot steps heard in the same place at the same time, furniture moving, a replay of the ghost's death on the day they died or time.)

Jacob:
"Jenna just told me that she has detected a large group of Weres near my base back home... Um how do we get there?" I ask to no one again, "Um... so what you are saying is magic? Well I don't know any magic! Fine! I'll ask the demon!" I bark. "Demon!" I say sharply, "Know any magic?"

"I do," said Ezra, "who do you think got us here? Leslie knows alot too."

Jacob:
"Fantastic! Take me back to my dimension so I can complete my mission" I say. "Fine!" I bark at no one. "Please..." I say sulkily.

Leslie

"So you're saying you become a residual haunting if you go insane?" I asked. "That's bullshit!" Then I turned to the Jackal dude. "Yeah, I know magic, and so does Ezra. Either of us could do it. And are you talking through some kind of comm link?"

Jacob:
"Um..." I say, "... no". I am talking very suspiciously.

"If I cling to my past I will or I'll start talking to people that aren't there. And once you go down that path...."

Leslie

"Come on, I can tell you're lying," I said to Jackal with a slight grin, ignoring Andrew completely. "Are you just talking to Jenna, or is this some kind of transdimentional comm link back to your headquarters or whatever? 'Cause if it is, that's actually really cool."

"I'm not lying Leslie," Andrew sighed.

((Gh...read.))

(I know she told him none of it was true.)

((She didn't say that he was a liar, though; she thinks what he's saying is a load of bullshit. She believes that he's delusional.))

"I've seen it with my own eyes. I'm not crazy...one mintute they're okay and the next..." Andrew shuddered.

"What's he saying now?" asks Ventrix, totally unable to see Andrew.

Leslie

"He's effectively saying a load of garbage," I told Ventrix. "I'll spare you the trouble of hearing me recite it."

"That he's not crazy or dellusional...I think he is." Ezra said. Liz ellbowed him in the ribs.

"He is not. Be nice." she hissed.
