I'm Falling for my Best Friend

Nash: I laughed. "Wait. Make sure the hose is ready, just in case the grass catches on fire too." Maybe this wasn't a smart idea. Oh well, I really hated this bikini.

Salina smirked. "Ya know, if you don't want the grass to catch on fire, why not just put it in you open fireplace over there?" She laughed.

Nash: "Oh yeah," I said. "Good idea. Let's do that." Good thing she was here, or I would have burned my house down most likely.

Sammy smiled slightly and watched. He stayed silent for a few moments as his mind raced. He really wanted to try something, but had a feeling Jasmine would hate the experiment. His heart beat slightly faster and he moved a little closer. "Jas, could I try something without you punching me?"

Jasmine: I glanced over at him. Try something? It depended what he meant by that. "Could you elaborate a little before I make any promises?"

Sammy looked down and bit his lip. He didn't exactly want to tell her that he wanted to try to kiss her and see how he felt about that kiss. In a way, he realized that he was gaining feelings for her and he also realized that that was a bad idea for their friendship. He took in a breath and looked back up, forcing a smile. "Never mind..."

Jasmine: I raised an eyebrow but let it go. "Okay," I said. "Anything else you wanna do?"

Sammy kept a smile on his face and made sure he had a mask up. He didn't want he to see that he was starting to like her in a way that could damage their friendship. "So what do you want to do now, Jas?"

Jasmine: I giggled. "Whatever you wanna do! I mean, you're the guy, so you pick!"

Sammy's smile turned a bit genuine and he chuckled softly. he shook his head and looked into her eyes. "Why is it assumed that since i'm a guy I have to figure everything out?" He continued to look into her eyes for a moment and his heart squeezed. he knew only too well she would never know how he felt about her unless he told her.

Jasmine: I shrugged. "I dunno. Usually guys figure stuff out. That makes it easier on the girl. You know, that's the way it should be."

Salina laughed. "Yeah, let's hurry. I don't want to have to look at that thing ever again." She began to skip to the fireplace, still happy from he dream.

Nash: I found some matches and went back over to the fireplace. "Do you want to do the honors?" I asked, holding the box out to her.

Salina smiled and took a match from the box. "Of course I do!" She quickly lit the match and set it in the fireplace.

Nash: I grinned as the bikini went on fire. "I should have brought a camcorder so I could videotape this moment and relive it whenever I want."

Salina couldn't stop smiling as she watched the fire grow around the bikini. She looked at Nash, feeling something odd in her. She could feel herself developing feelings for him, and wondering if he felt the same way.

Nash: Salina was smiling. I'd never noticed it before, but she was so beautiful. Plus she was funny and great to spend time with. I'd never thought about us being together, but just for a second, I pictured it in my mind.

Salina let out a content sigh once the bikini had been redused to nothing but ashes. She looked at Nash and smiled. "Now what?"

Nash: I shrugged. "I dunno. We're definitely not going swimming again. But we could go out for a walk in the neighborhood, since it's nice outside."

Salina nodded. "Yeah, okay. That sounds nice." A walk seemed like a good idea to her. Am I really having feelings for him?

Nash: "Well, we better go soon," I said. "It's getting dark out." And if we ran into idiots in the dark, it was going to be harder to get away from them. "Do you need to change into anything?" She did look hot in my clothes. I remembered that from the last time she'd needed to borrow mine.

Salina grinned. "Yeah, I don't think I feel like walking around in my sundress for a while without a jacket. Do you mind if I borrow maybe a shirt?"

Nash: I shrugged. "Help yourself. Raid my closet, get whatever you'd like. I just want it back after you're done wearing it."

Salina smiled and rushed to Nash's room, finding a nice black, long sleeved shirt. Even though it was still really warm out, she liked to wear shirts with long sleeves. She soon returned to Nash, still smiling. "Ready."

Nash: I was going to wear that shirt a lot now. Wait a minute. No. I didn't like Salina. She was my best friend! Man, this was weird. I shook my thoughts aside and nodded. "Alright, let's go."
