I look at the world and I notice it's turning...

"Erm... okay" I murmured "Sure Joyce, whatever" Then I stop partway down, leaning heavily on the walls. "Hey Joyce?"

Joyce: I turn around and blink. "Hm? What's the matter?" I ask, still pretty hyped up.

Jonas
I was so, totally, out of my mind drunk so I gave her a small, lazy smile "Okay, before we go any farther, I gotta tell you something" I put my finger to my mouth "But you have to promise you won't tell anybody. Just between us, okay?"

Joyce: I nod hard like a bobblehead. "Promise!" I whisper yell. "My lips are completely and utterly sealed from this moment on!"

Jonas
"I love you, Joyce Ryder" Then I stumble forward, losing my ballence and falling down the stairs

Joyce: "Jonas!" I squeak as I watch him fall down the stairs. I hurry after him and grab him by the shirt when he finally stops. "You can't just tell a girl that and then fall down the stairs!" I scream. "What am I suppose to do if you died?!"

Jonas
That was... close "Go to my funeral?" I suggested groggily, the fact I just told Joyce that I loved her not quite hitting me yet

Joyce: "Don't be stupid!" I say as I stop shaking him and sigh, my eyes filling with tears. "What am I gonna do with you?" And then, before I convince myself against it, I gently put my lips to his and kiss him.

My eyes widen, and before I even know what's going on, I'm kissing her back

Joyce: When I feel someone tap my shoulder, I slwoly pull away. I look up to see an old woman with her hands on her hips looking down at us. "Excuse me," she says," But you're blocking the stairs! You're not the only one who needs to use them, y'know!"

Jonas
"Oops, sorry" I murmured, grabbing Joyce's hand and pulling her into the subway just as it reached the station

Joyce: "Crusty old woman," I mutter before turning around and leaning in the door. When I catch Jonas' eye, I nervously start playing with my hair. "Y-you were serious, right? When you said you loved me?"

Jonas
The subway begins to move, and I hold onto a bar with one hand, nervously running the other through my hair. Then I nod slowly "Yeah... it's crazy, but there it is... I've... been wanting to tell you for a while now" I admit, heat rising to my cheeks

Joyce: I smile and brush a stray piece of hair out of his face. "Well, maybe it's not so crazy," I say. " Maybe I love you too."

Double confession time! Yay! Too bad Jonas won't even remember this >.<

Shock clearly animated my features as my eyes widen "But... but you're gorgeous. And talented. And brave. And kind and... amazing. You're amazing, Joyce. How could you love me?!"

Joyce: "And I love money, complain a lot, get really lazy, teach little kids bad words. I'm not that amazing. And well, why wouldn't I love you?" I ask.

Jonas
"You take care of so many kids, put up with Marshall and my complaints, do so, so many things Joyce..." I shake my head an sigh "And I'm... I leave you, Joy. Marshall and I leave you every day, not telling you where we're going, what we're doing... I'm just so unreliable."

Joyce: "But it's not like you're out drinking or anything. You're actually trying to help people." I can't help but look away as I think about the thoughts that start to eat at me at times. About me having to hear that they died from the news. "Who am I to be upset about it when it's something you guys are passionate about? That takes guts, Jonas, and it's something that you're lucky to have."

Jonas
I smile softly "Well, obviously we do our fair share of drinking too... but I get your point." Maybe my fear was unfounded, maybe I was just being stupid. That's it, I mean I'm only 21, and it's not like I'll still be totally alone in 12 years... assuming I somehow manage to live that long

Joyce: "Yea, speaking of drinks," I say as I cross my arms. "Mind telling me why I'm drunk?"

Jonas
"Probably has something to do with Marsh, of course... I dunno why you're drunk, and I dunno why I'm drunk, but I have a feeling Marshall knows why we're both drunk..." I was becoming a little incoherent, so I shook my head as if to clear my mind "At least he didn't pin you down and force you to drink a whole bottle of Canary, I hate that stuff"

Joyce: "Damn it, is that why I can see Mr. Walrus?" I ask. "I always thought you two were just joking around until he started following me everywhere too."

Jonas
I look around "Mr Walrus?! Where?!" Yes, HE could help us! Oh geez, sign you are an alcoholic number one: you begin relying on your hallucinations to help you in about every situation

Joyce: "Drinking tea next to that homeless man," I say. "Riiiight over there." Mr. Walrus waves back at us and continues drinking his soda. "Long time no see, guys."
