Maximum Ride

"Just fine, Arlo," Drue replied emotionlessly. Still cradling Lyssa in her arms, she took off after the rest of the group. Her mind still going over everything that could possibly go wrong.

Kal: I caught the eraser by the jaw and threw him againt the ground, bringing my foot down hard onto his chest. I heard a sickening crunch and he twitched before going still. They were coming around but I managed to keep them away for the most part.

Arlo: I started to fight as well. I put a cloak of blackness over the Erasers and tore into them, ripping chunks out. I was a new person, bloodlust was consuming me. (Arlo has a very dark side.)

Alex: I jumped back to my feet. "Thanks kal." This is why i wanted him to have my back. "Up and away." I told them as less and less guards came. I snapped open my wings and flew upards with a jump.

Kal: I shot up, blowing past Alex and then slowing. "Okay, what now?" I asked her.

Arlo: I went back up as well, stopping just short of Drue and Lyssa.

Drue followed after the others, Lyssa clinging fearfully to her. As neither Drue nor Lyssa had powers that anyone knew of, she avoided the guards and Erasers as much as possible. She couldn't escape them all, however, and was eventually cornered. Wrapping her black, leathery wings protectively around Lyssa, she stood and defiantly faced the Eraser.

Alex: I waited for Seth, but he never came. Looking down I saw that erasers were storming him. We wouldnt be able to go back. "Seth!" i screamed. I dove down to help him but kal stopped me.

Seth: "Kal! Get her out of here!" I shouted up to them.

Kal: i rolled my eyes. I hated that kid. I grabbed Alex's waist and shot off, faster than ever. A few miles away, i had got sick of her thrashing and let her go. I had spun around enough so she couldn 't find her way back.

Alex: I let my wings fold and dropped towards the ground. i snapped my wings open last second and clinged to a tree and sobbed. I lost my best friend. My right hand man.

Kal: "He's not going to die! Arlo will handle it with him." I said, grimacing.

Arlo: I pulled guards and erasers away from Seth and pulled him up. "Fly, damn it!" I said and he listened to me.

Alex: i wasnt goint to believe him until i saw seth again.

Seth: I snapped out my wings and shot up. "Lets go."

Drue watched the others as the flew away. Just peachy. "Give us the girl," one of the Erasers said in a deep, growling voice.

"No," Drue replied defiantly.

"Give her to us, or we will kill you," the Eraser said. What a polite man to give her a choice in the matter. Of course, he was going to kill her either way.

"No!" Drue said forcefully. It seemed as if a large wind sprang to life and blew the Erasers away from her and Lyssa. Taking advantage of the open window of freedom, Drue flew to catch up with the flock, her leathery wings beating the air.

Kal: "Whatever. Be dramatic, but it's not going to get you anywhere." I said and dropped down as well.

Arlo: I was actually faster than Seth, which made me happy. We got to Alex and Kal, Kal wearing a disgusted expression.

Alex: I heard seths thoughts and perked up a bit. I jumped up from the tree and tackled him in a hug, even though he was in midair.
"Um, did anyone try to calm her down?" he asked before akwardly wrapping his arms around me.

"Hey, guys," Drue said with fake cheerfullness as she caught up to her feathery-winged 'friends', "I just wanted to say thanks for helping out with those Erasers that were trying to kidnap Lyssa. You were a great help, couldn't have done it without you."

Kal: "Nope, I'm sure I made it worse." I sneered.

Arlo: I glanced back at Drue and Lyssa. "Oh my gosh. Are you two okay? Sorry I didn't come back." I said, a frown set deep in my face.

Alex: Seth looked down at me and raised an eye brow. I let go of him, and opened my wings. "Lets get out of here guys."

"I'm fine," Drue said, "I hope the same can be said for Lyssa."

"I'm good," Lyssa said groggily, squirming her way out of Drue's arms, "I can fly myself." As soon as she tried though, she began plummeting through the air. It was clear that she was still much to exhausted to fly.

Seth: I dove down and caught her gently.

Arlo: I frowned. "I'm sorry, I have to go because I can see how important I am." I teased and went up, flying towards the trees.

Alex: I laughed lightly and flew up after him. "Arlo, slow down!"

Arlo: I turned back. "Why?" I asked. i was perfectly happy and safe on my own. I was a good enough fightr and they sure as hell didn't need me.

Alex: "We shouldnt split up...we cant split up." I pointed out. "Plus without you here, i think i might go insane with kal being Kal."

Arlo: i snorted. "How am I going to help? You have your boyfriend and Drue and Lyssa. You don't really need me." I said and swiped my hair out of my eyes, but it moved back to its spot.

Alex: "Seth is not my boyfriend!" I felt my cheeks heat. "Arlo, I need you as much as i need anyone else. Your family to me..." My eyes pleaded to him.

Arlo: "You blushed, so he is.... Or you like him." I said, shrugging simply. "I'd still be around." I reasoned.
