C. D. - character development

Penny: I nodded. "Yeah. Everyone just gets lost in their own lives and forget that there is beauty around them. It's really frustrating."

"I don't see how we can. I go through these cycles, right, of spending a couple of months just getting on with life, and then one day I wake up and say 'hey, there's a whole galaxy out there!', and I run off to rediscover everything. And then it's back to greyness and boredom again. Do you get that?"

Penny: I laughed. "You're making me want to go off and explore things now," I told her, grinning.

(I GOT IT RIGHT xD)

((Huzzah!))

"You want to? We're only an eight minute slice to the Alhaldeh nebula." Skipper raises her eyebrows. "No pressure (see what I did there?), but if you want we could be there pretty sharpish. It's quite something to see billions of tons of gas illuminated from the inside by proto-stars."

(lol I love pun!)

Penny: "That would be cool, I guess..."

"Okay!" Skipper scampers over through the door, then leans back through, leaning on the doorframe with all four arms. "You coming?"

Penny: "I guess!"

"Brilliant!"
Skipper leads Penny outside to the transport. It looks like a cross between a miniature battleship, a cathedral, a hawk, and something off of Star Wars. A ramp leads into the back.
"You come in and find somewhere to sit. I'll take us up."

Penny: I took a seat and waited. "Alright, let's go!"

"Watch this," grins Skipper, twiddling the settings and typing the coordinates into the computer with all four hands at once. The sky stretches as the craft tears through the atmosphere into a temporary orbit. "You ain't seen nothin' yet."
The stars spin and appear to merge as the craft slices a tiny incision between their current positiopn in space and a point approximately a thousand miles galactic north of the Alhaldeh nebula. the incision clamps shut behind the craft again. Outside the window, a vast cloud hangs in space, like mist full of twinkling fairy lights in shades of blue, yellow, and orange.
"Now THAT'S a nebula," smirks Skipper.

Penny: I let out a sharp breath. "That's...beautiful," I whispered, at a loss for words.

"Just like me," murmurs Skipper. "...I mean, what?"
She blushes green, embarrassed by her own arrogant joke.

Penny: I laughed. "Nah, it'd be creepy if I called you beautiful since we're both girls. But you're pretty."

(ha! remembered again )

"Yeah... that would be kinda weird. And we're different species, so it would be SERIOUSLY odd. but yeah, I am amazing. And I expect that by human standards you're not bad either."
Skipper flashes a quick smile to show that her arrogance isn't real.

Penny: I laughed. "Well, thanks. But the nice thing is that we can both appreciate our universe."

"It's brilliant, isn't it," confirms Skipper. "That's something I love about the universe. No matter how different people are, they can always be amazed by the wonders of the universe. I don't care whether you're human, Zaxiphrasian, or whatever. If you can't appreciate the Alhaldeh Nebula then you aren't sentient."

Penny: I laughed. "Exactly. It's amazing how this can make us so similar."

"Yeah. Do you reckon there are aliens down there actually made of that gas?" Skipper asks. "'Cause that'd be weirrrrd."

Penny: I shrugged. "I don't know. Lots of things are possible."

((I might do something with that idea, but it needs a direction))

"True. Stranger things have happened."

(AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! SOO CONFUSED!!!!!!! Fill me in?!)

(Yeah. It sounds cool, but a bit confusing!)

Penny: I nodded. "Yeah. I'm a bit confused right now about everything...)

(Penny and Skippy [haha love that nickname] are in her ship, I think.)

Dan:
I materialize in front of Penny and Skipper on the ship, I had used binirization to find them. "You just left me whats up with that?!?"

((Yup, but anyone else could've followed them on board or stowed away or whatever.))

"Oh, hey Dan." Skipper nods. "What's up?"
