C. D. - character development

"You should check out the space flight section," says Skipper.

Penny: "Okay! Do you want to show me where it is?"

Skipper leads her up to the mezzanine level. "See these? These are the first manned modules we ever sent into space."
The pods are basically aerodynamic bullets, designed to be fired from a massive gun, like in the Jules Verne novel.

Penny: I took a deep breath as I looked around. "Whoa..."

"Greasy... Sorry, cool, aren't they?"

Penny: I laughed. "Yes. Very!"

"I actually had to fly one of these once. It was the most terrifying thing I've ever done."

Penny: "I can't imagine you scared."

I'm lost...

((Basically, they've just gone into a nearby building: a museum. Also, Skipper had a bit of an argument with Dan.))

"Really? You aren't trying hard enough," replies Skipper. "Everyone gets scared."

(They're looking at another exhibit.)

Penny: "I guess..."

Skipper shudders silently, locked into a waking nightmare. Her eyes glaze over as she remembers her first mission with the Noronel.

Penny: I continued walking around.

The memories come thick and fast. "Have you ever had to do something so horrible it haunts you forever, but you know it would've been worse if you hadn't?"
Skipper's voice is slow and laborious, and her breathing is ragged.

Penny: I turned around slowly. "Hm? Well, it hasn't happened to me yet. I know something's going to come up, though."

Dan:
I follow and say, "that may be true about Zaxipharians but Time Lords are amazing they reincarnate twelve times before dying, and every time they get younger, they are anomolies of nature. They know everything about everything in the universe and the Kragnak can use their power of them"

Skipper doesn't hear Dan. She presses her hands over her eyes and ears and takes some deep breaths.

Dan:
"Whats wrong?" I ask Skipper

Skipper brings her hands away from her head, and straightens up. Her words come incredibly slowly, as though she is weighing and measuring each one. her voice is strained as though she is trying to hold a door closed against a Vendean cyber-wolf.
"I... am... remembering..." she explains. "What I've... done."
Her head twitches and tears trickle from the corners of her eyes. "I'm okay!" she shouts suddenly. "I mean, I'm okay." Her breathing is wild and ragged and her eyes roll wildly, but she is starting to look calmer.

Dan:
"Um... ok" I say hesitantly, "Well anyway the Kragnak are how we do things unnoticed"

"I'm the way we do things unnoticed. Well, me and the other smugglers," replies Skipper, still panting, but now smirking. "We're just not important enough to see."

Dan:
I laugh and say, "Sorry about that"

"It's okay," replies Skipper, her spines rattling.

Conor:
"Shocking how much goes on without any government knowing, I mean most of the governments on my planet don't even know we have colonies or that we are abducting people as well"
