Isadora: "Do you know what's going on?" I whisper.

Eliza: Oh, so he snuck in? And he's still alive too! I grin and give him the thumbs up.

Ella shook her head and frowned. "All I know is that we're all locked up in cages for some reason or another."

Chance gave a half-smile. "Well, I'm still not sure if I regret it or not...there's more to this place than meets the eye, isn't there?"

Eliza: I nod. "But that applies to a lot of things," I mouth, although I don't know if he knows what I said or not. I scruntch up my mouth in thought.

Chance nodded, putting together what she said. "Very true."

Isadora: I close my eyes as tears threaten to fall. This is so much worse than the asylum. Oh, if only I had stayed! Escaping just wasn't worth it!

Eliza:"Let's go to the tailor's," I mouth suddenly. That buffoon made me rip my dress, but my master always gave me a lot of money. "You can get something too."

Ella sat down on the cold metal and tucked her knees to her chest. "Hey..." she said, though she was on the brink of tears herself, "It can't be that bad...maybe we'll only be here for a little while. Things'll get better."

Chance cocked his head. "A tailor?"

Isadora: I bid no but keep my head down. "The old woman told us we were going to die."

Eliza: I grin and grab his arm, tugging him down the street to the shops.

"Don't talk like that," Ella said softly, and buried her face in her knees. What if it was true?

Chance was about to say something, but she was already leading him away. Why not? It was just a tailor. He grinned boyishly and followed.

Eliza: I suddenly stop outside of a shop, causing Chance to bump into me. I out my hands to the window and look inside at all the pretty jewelry. I spot a pretty necklace and my eyes widen. I want that one.

Chance watched the glinting jewels, and then looked back at Eliza. He knew that look. "Which one are you looking at?"

Eliza: I point at the one with the huge opal dangling from it. I think it's costume jewelry, something that few proper young ladies wear. Either way, I'm in the store in an instant, counting out my money.

And then she had dissapeared through the door before Chance could say anything else. Wow, that necklace was huge...he followed her inside, looking around.

Eliza: I tap one of the workers on the shoulder and grin. He looks me up and down before fixing his bifocals. "May I help you?" he asks. His eyes linger on the rip on my dress, which leaves part of my knees open to prying eyes. I roll my Eyes. He isn't talking to my knees! He's talking to my face for god's sake! I point to the necklace and put my hands on my hips.

"She wants that necklace," Chance said finally, pointing.

Eliza: The man looks at the two if us and frown. "And what makes me believe you have te means to pay for this." I hold up my money and wave it in his face. His eyes narrow. "If you don't mind me asking, however did you come upon such a large amount of money?"

Chance glanced at her curiously, waiting for an answer.

Eliza: I pout. "I am not a prostitute if that's what you're implying!" I mouth. The man only looks more confused.
