The Fairies Fight Back

(Okay.)

Al: "She's hurt. I don't know what to do."

Sierra: I rushed over to the pixie. "It's a broken wing. Here, let me handle it. Now, why aren't you fighting?" I grabbed some medical things from one of the many containers under my bed and started mending the wing.

Al: "The fairies left. They'll probably come back soon, though."

Sierra: "Well...where you fighting at? I could hear the fighting from here and if you were in the middle of their village I shouldn't have been able too."

Al: "We weren't too far away. We were just outside the tree."

Sierra: I gasped, "The tree? You mean, The Life Tree?"

Al: "I don't know! Is it the Life Tree?"

Sierra: "How could you not know!? Yes, that was the Life Tree! Everyone knows about the Life Tree! Oh, no...How did the tree look after you left?"

Jessica: I lifted my head. "It looked awful..." I said quietly.

Al: I frowned. "I couldn't really tell. I don't know a lot of things."

Sierra: I rolled my eyes and looked up at the Pixie. "What's your name anyway?" I asked as I splinted the girl Pixie's wing.

Jessica: "My name is Jessica. You should know me because of my father. You're Sierra? Correct?" I knew Sierra because of her famous wit. Everyone talked about her strategic battle plans.

Al: I frowned at Sierra. "Should I know you?"

Sierra: I nodded to Jessica and said, "Yes, I do know you." Then I rolled my eyes over to Al. "Well, I don't know. I'm the one that makes all your battle plans. I'm the one who's led you into battle without actually being there. I'm the one behind all of your victories. Maybe you should know me. Maybe not."

Al: "Oh," I said. "Hm. Come to think about it, you look familiar."

Sierra: I sighed as I tightened the splint for the last time. "How does that feel?"

Jessica: I sat up with only a slight struggle and after a moment's hesitation said, "It feels good. It hurts, but it feels better. Thanks so much." After Sierra put away her things and nodded a "You're welcome", Jessica asked, "So...what about the tree? It's dying without a doubt."

Al: I frowned. "Actually, I really don't know. Sierra, what about you?"

Sierra: "I don't know. I'm going to have to look at the tree, but I can feel it. It is dying and there is notihng we can do."

Al: "Are you sure we can't do anything? Anything at all?"

Sierra: "Well...there is only one thing we can do. And that's ending the war. We all know that can never happen, though." I shrugged. Although I didn't want to die, the chances of living weren't looking good.

Al: I frowned. "How do we do that?"

Sierra: "We alert everyone of the situation. We get along. Build our cities next to each other, live with each other. Eat the same foods and breathe the same air. Marry and make families together. I know it sounds easy, but with the rivalry we've had for decades, it would be brutal. Absolute torture."

Al: "First things first. Jessica, is your wing better?"

Jessica: I reluctantly sat up and fluttered my wing a bit. I winced, but my wing was wrapped tightly and I could no longer feel the sharp pain from bone rubbing against bone. "Yeah, it feels alot better, thanks Sierra."

Sierra: Sierra nodded another "You're welcome" and continued to watch Al with great scrutiny.

Al: I nodded. "That's good. Alright. What should we do now?"

Sierra: I raised an eyebrow, "I thought you were the one with the plan. Your tone suggested it."

Al: I shook my head. "I just wanted to make sure Jessica was fine."
