CHARACTER CHAT!!!!

Cricket found an empty room and collapsed on a torn-up couch. He groaned, curled up and shook his hair in his face, closing his eyes, wanting nothing more than to go to sleep and pray that tomorrow would be smooth-sailing. He laid there for a minute, teetering on the wall between sleep and awake.

Something pecked at his hand.

Go away, he whistled, and went back to sleep.

"Ow!" He bolted awake at swatted at the bird, but she flew up and out of his way too quickly. That was the last straw. Damn bird! What did I ever do to you? Come down here, little demon, I dare you, you'll regret it! It's just not enough that everything's falling apart, is it? You've got to go and try to peck my damned hand off too! Want a fight? Come down here, I'll give you some! Go ahead, have a ball! I'm wide open! Peck away! See if I care! he whistled loudly, then flopped back onto the couch.

Everything was silent for a moment, and his thougts drifted away again. Then he felt little scratchy feet pattering around on his shoulder. He groaned. Go away. Develyn stayed. He opened an eye and peered at her. She blinked her beady eyes at him, just stared. He tried again. Go away. She stayed there. I can't get rid of you, can I? Cricket whistled, and sighed. After a moment of silence he suddenly whistled, What'm I going to do, birdy? These people are just set on tearing each other apart. It's supposed to be 'once a family always a family,' not 'until you fuck up'. Pretty soon they'll lose each other, which means I'll lose everyone once again and everything will be back to normal and--shit. And now I'm talking to a bird as if you can understand oh lord I am so crazy. Develyn blinked at him, cocked her head, and for once she didn't bite him. He had a thought. He hesitantly reached out a hand, felt the tip of one soft feather. "Ow!" He swatted her off the couch and turned the other way. Goodnight birdie.

Milo swiped the back of his hand over his eyes, fatigue kicking him face first into auto-pilot. "I need to talk to Ami..." he sighed as he pressed the side of his face against the door-frame. It felt so good to close his eyes, it didn't matter that his pillow was a cheap pock-marked piece of wood.

Sparrow:
Guilt nagged me. "Ug. I have to apologize to her, dont I?" I groaned making a face.

Milo nodded, not bothering to lift his head or open his eyes. The motion caused black sprays of hair to cling to the frame above his head, and jut out in little spikes around his ear.

Bored bored bored.

I am very tempted to write another unneccessary (yeah I spelled that wrong I think) fluff scene.

Sparrow: I watched him for a moment before reaching up and pushing his hair out of his face. He turned with my hand and looked at me with that tired, solumn expression of his. I smiled at him, and without questioning myself, I jumped up on my tippy toes and kissed him lightly. I had to grab his shoulder so I wouldnt loose my balance.

I pulled back a little, enough to look in his eyes. Fear sprang up in me as I wondered if I was pushing my luck. But hell if I cared. I only got one shot to help make things right.

I reached up and threw my arms around his neck, pulling him close and hugging him tight. "I'm sorry," I whispered, "And I mean it."

When she kissed him a shock of surprise wound itself in his core and warmed as it curled in on itself. "Ditto." Milo said in an arrogant tone extracting a short peal of laughter from Sparrow.

"Quelle coincidence," (("kehl koh-ahn-see-dahnce")) I remarked. "My 'ead poundeeng mahrked ze begeeneeng of my life on ze streets, too. Only, I'll nevehr fohrget my life befohre zat. I'll nevehr fohrget ohr fohrgeeve--" my face darkened "--what zose bastahrds deed to me. Zey--oh, I'm sohrry." I shook my head quickly, putting on another smile. I'm not sure that it touched my eyes.

I laughed and nodded my head at the hallway. "You should probably go talk to her now, make sure she doesnt throw herself out a window. ...Again.
I'm gonna take a nap. I'll "apologize" later when I've collected myself so there's less of a chance I'll make her cry.
....Again." I smiled.

Kim
Hmm? It was getting interesting now... "A tale of vengence then? I wanna hear!"

Milo didn't move. He didn't know what he'd say to Ami that could resolve anything, make anything easier for her. His head fell forward a bit as he faught sleep deprevation.

"Ditto," Finn said, returning a smile. He'd often wondered who he was before whatever happened, but now he wondered if he wanted to know at all.

Sparrow:
I leaned forward and wrapped my arms around his torso, pressing my cheek against his chest. He was warm and solid, like one of those rocks that's been sitting in the sun for hours that are so amazingly comfortable they make for the perfect place to nap.

Milo rested his forehead on her hair, the smell of her shampoo consumed his senses. "I can't stay awake." he muttered truthfully in a way that would extract an 'awh' from any woman.

Sparrow:
I gave a soft giggle. "You sound like a sleepy toddler. Here," I said, taking him by the hand and leading him into the room. "Come lay down with me?"
I pulled him onto the bed. I felt like I was guiding a small child. It kind of made me feel warm and calm inside.

Meh...I miss Annaleah. Hey Beautiful and BW, remember that scene in Luna with Brawne and Annaleah and Aloe? Want to unfreeze it?
