I promised/I'd never sing of love/If it does not exist

Ollie froze and his cheeks flooded with pink. He noticed his mouth was agape, slightly and he shut it quickly, nodding once. "You're not stupid," he said quietly.

Lydia: "Yes, I am. At least when it comes to this." I sighed, opening my eyes but looking down at my book, though I didn't read it. "Way to ruin your chance,"I mumbled, talking to myself.

Ollie sat down, too. "Well, honestly, I'm not any better," he said, shaking his head. "And you didn't ruin anything."

Lydia: "I didn't?" I perked up, looking up at him with a smile, but then I frowned and shook my head, looking back down at my book, a blush creeping into my cheeks. "Uh..." I had seemed wayyyy too eager there, hadn't I?

Ollie chuckled, mostly to himself. Maybe he could have been a little bit more clear. "No," trust me. He was happy that she had perked up the way she had. It gave him a sense of hope, though it may have been false.

Lydia: "Oh." I bit my lip over my smile. "So then...can I change my answer to yes?"

Ollie's eyes lit up fractionally. "Yeah, you can if you want... I mean, the offer is still out, but I don't want pressure you or anything. Maybe I'll just stop talking and be happy, instead," he said, looking down with a small smile.

Lydia: I giggled quietly, a little nervously. "You're not pressuring me into anything, I /want/ to go." As soon as the words were out, I hid the bottom of my face behind my book, looking over the top. I was blushing, but he couldn't see thanks to my book-of-a-shield

Ollie grinned a little and stood straight. "Are you ready right now or should we go somewhere tomorrow?" He asked.

Lydia: "Ah, uh, well...today is good I suppose." I stood up and began to pile my books into the same precarious stack Oliver had helped me with earlier.

Ollie shook his head and with a quick smile, he stepped forward, taking a few of her books. "I insist," he said.

Lydia: I winced slightly, hoping he kept them in alphabetical order when he picked them up, but nodded thankfully. "I'll just have to drop this all at my dorm, then we can go."

"Okay," he said, eyeing the books and switching two that had switched order when he grabbed them. He followed her out of the room to her dorm.

Lydia: I dropped the books on my bed, then locked the door - checking twice to make sure it was, in fact, locked - then turned to Oliver. "So where are we headed?"

Oliver pursed his lips. "Oh, I suppose I haven't though that far. Do you have anywhere you'd like to go?" He asked.

Lydia: I played with one of my curls and shook my head. "No, not really. Just not outside."

Ollie nodded and started out. Where could they go? The hall or the library... No, he needed something good for a first... Date. The word made his mouth dry up a little and then he turned to smile at Lydia.

Lydia: I was busy starting at my toes as I followed Oliver, humming a happy little tune to myself.

Ollie felt the urge to glance back at Lydia but he felt like it may not be percieved well. The got to the main lobby and he looked two ways. One way was a butterfly garden, indoors, but she didn't like bugs. The second was a cafe, farther small and quiet. Yeah... He decided to go with the latter.

Lydia: I looked up as we came to the cafe. Kind of plain + quiet = good, I thought to myself as we walked inside.

Ollie lead her to a booth and they got small menus. Looking it over, Ollie just decided on a large coffee, black with sugar. "What will you have?" He asked.

Lydia: Decisions, decisions. I bit my lower lip lightly in thought. I couldn't drink coffee, it kept me up too late. "Hot chocolate." That had a little less caffeine.

Ollie handed the waitress a bill that he knew would cover it and smiled down, waiting for their drinks. "So you actually wanted a chance... W-with me, I mean?" He asked, a little unsure.
