Marissa: "No, I was just scared of what he would do if I did try to break up with him."

Jude: I nodded. "Understandable. How long is he supposed to be in jail?"

Marissa: "His sentencing is in July."

Jude: I nodded. "Ah. Are you going to it?"

Marissa: "I'm not sure."

Jude: "Are you afraid he'll see you?"

Marissa: "No, it's just that I'm not sure if I want to see him."

Jude: I nodded. "Yeah. I can understand that too."

Marissa: "I'm afraid of when he comes out of jail too."

Jude: I nodded. "I would be as well."

Marissa: "But hopefully he'll be locked up for a long time, enough for me to get the hell out of here." I smiled slightly.

Jude: "Have you considered moving away?"

Marissa: "Mom didn't want to uproot the family."

Jude: "Oh. You're not the only child?"

Marissa: "No, I am the only child, but Dad was in line for a promotion and she didn't want to deny him that."

Jude: "Oh," I said. "I see. What does your dad do?"

Marissa: "He's the editor of a magazine in the next city over."

Jude: "Ah. What magazine?"

Marissa: "It's a local magazine, not famous at all. It's like, a health one. It's boring as hell, i never remembered the title." I laughed.

Jude: "Ah," I said, chuckling. "Hey, well, not everything in life is interesting."

Marissa: "I know." I said, smiling slightly.

Jude: I sighed. "At least this place is more interesting than I thought it'd be."

Marissa: "How so?" I asked him.

Jude: "I don't know. I thought I'd have nothing to do here."

Marissa: "Did you expect that there would be other people?"
