Kate sat on a sofa at her house, playing with the feathers at the edges of her wings.

Emilio knocked on the door of her house.

Kate smiled. Exactly why she moved here. "That it is." A feather fell from her wings, landing near her foot. She pushed it out of sight deftly.

Emilio took a step back. "Well I just wanted to meet you, so I'll be going back home now."

Kate shut the door, smiling to herself, and stretched out her leaf green and white wings, not bothering to close the blinds. No human would be able to even look at the windows. The birdlike, diamond shaped feathers reached out over my head and out behind me. That was much better.
