I give a small smile, not pressing for more. Wants to read huh? Do you forget that quickly? I sigh as I get off an exit, going down the country roads. A lazy afternoon drive.

As soon as they hit the country roads where there was no traffic, no one to see her, she slid out of the seat and up through the window, sitting on it's edge , the only part of her still in the car was her legs and her hands which were holding to the roof so as to not fall out. She had good enough balance that she wasn't worried about it though. She felt happier than a dog with clean toilet bowl.

Lorrick hurried into Kylia's room. He grabbed the back of the nurse's shirt and pulled him off her, sending him across the room. He set the guitar down and walked over to the man, his face contorted in anger. "What the hell do you think you were doing?" he demanded.

Ben shrugged, giving her a small, sad smile. "It will make a difference to the other families who were hurt by these bastards," he whispered. But he saw her point....realized what she was saying was true.

"I was just trying to fix her IV." The nurse stuttered with wide eyes. "The cord was tangled so I was going to fix it. I didn't mean anything by it I swear."
Kylia had scrambled to the corner of the hospital room, the IV ripped from her arm, tears streaming down her cheeks.

Could you all give me a quick run down on what's happened with Hunter and Caleb? I don't feel like reading it....Haha

He's showing her all of his houses, she told him about the incidents with her other charges and how he's her trial charge. If she doesn't get this one right, then she'll be "stripped of her wings and bad things will happen." Right now they are on a back country road going towards one of his houses.

The anger drained from Lorrick's face, worry filling it instead. He took the nurse's hand and pulled him up. "I'm sorry," he murmured, taking a step back. He turned around and walked over to Kylia, bending down in front of her. "Kylia, what's wrong?" he whispered, studying her face carefully.

Caleb
I glance over and give a breathy laugh. So long as she came in if we came across any cops, i was fine with it.

Malakai
I sigh, pursing my lips. Shouldn't have spoken. Shouldn't have brought it up. "I'm sorry," i murmur, sipping coffee. It's hot. it burns. I don't much care.

Ben studied her, his smile growing slightly. "Why are you sorry?"

Malakai
"I spoke out of my jurisdiction. I have no right to question your reasons for calling me." My wings shift slightly, uncomfortable with the situation. I avoid his eyes, staring into the coffee still.

Ben shook his head. "Nuh-uh," he said, studying her again. "You have every right to question me. Don't beat yourself up for that." He smiled at her, standing up from the table. "So, you ready for work?"

Malakai pauses to study him, sipping her coffee again before nodding. Odd human. I suppose if it doesn't bother him then fine. I stand as well, waiting for him.

Ben smiled and grabbed his motorcycle keys. "You wanna fly or ride?"

Malakai
"Fly please," I say. Be able to see threats easier, avoid the stares of people... Never liked motorcycles either.

Kylia looked over at Lorrick and it to her a minute to realize it was him. When she did, she flung herself at him, wrapping her arms around his neck as she broke down, burrying her face in his chest. "I just got scared, I'm sorry. I-I woke up a-and he was touching me a-and I tried to move and he got ontop of me and you weren't here and," Her voice trailed off into more sobs, the white bandages wrapped over the bullet wounds starting to turn red. "I just want to go, please Lorrick. Please." Her voice begging him to take her somewhere safe.

The nurse had by now disapeared.


Hunter couldn't help the bell like laugh that escaped her as she slowly let go of the car and lifted her hands up against the wind happily. Had she been with any other charge, this would not have happened. She would have stayed in the car and stayed quiet. But she was with Caleb, and Caleb was different. He didn't seem to mind. She smiled happily as the air rushed over her, stealing her breath away.

Lorrick held her close to him, his chin on the top of her head and his eyes squeezed shut. "We'll leave," he promised quietly. "But you have to get better okay? You have to heal first. Then we'll go where ever you want to go." He picked her up gently, careful of the wounds in her chest and back. He walked back over to the hospital bed and set her down, pressing the call button.

Ben nodded. "Alrighty, I'll meet you at the garage then." He walked over to the door, taking his helmet off the counter as he passed it. "You don't need anything before we go, do you?"

Kylia clung to him tightly, lifting her body so she didn't touch the blankets, staying curled up against him. Blood was running slowly from her arm where the IV use to be. "Don't let go, please don't let go." Her voice was tear filled, her tears soaking his shirt.

Lorrick nodded and laid down on the bed with her, keeping her curled body close to him. He got a few nasty looks from the nurse when he came back in, but he chose to ignore them. He held onto Kylia as he changed her IV, but when it was time to change her bandages, he studied her face closely. "You need to sit up for a minute, alright?" he murmured softly.

Kylia's hands clung to his shirt but she gave a small nod and sat up, cringing slightly from the nurse's hands as they changed her bandages. When they were done she quickly returned back to her position next to Lorrick, clinging to him as if she expected him to disapear at any moment.

Lorrick had his arms wrapped around her, the thin hospital sheet drapped over the both of them. His wings were cramping for lying on them, so he sat up slightly to extend them before lying back down.

Kylia shivered slightly as his wings tickled her skin. She moved closer to him, clinging to him like a spider monkey. "I love you." She whispered, as if she expected that to keep him there. As if that was enough to keep him from leaving her.

Caleb
I adjust, glancing over at her when she laughed. It was a nice sound. An angel acting normally. Isn't that one for the ages.

Malakai
"Nothing," I say, finishing my coffee and fanning out my wings a little. I want the sky. No more of his...humanity...

Hunter smiled as she slid back into the car, seeing another car down the road. She was still beaming as she bounced slightly in her seat, looking absolutely wind blown. "I think that was almost better than flying," she said breathlessly.
