Sound of Madness

Devon shrugged. "You lead the way, I don't know where the party is."

Max: "Oh," I said, flushing slightly. "Um...if you don't mind me asking, uh, why are you here?"

Dana frowned and stood up. "I'll just leave then..." She turned to walk out of the room.

Demi led them down to the beach party.
"Demi! Welcome!" one of the shirtless life guards ran over to her and gave her a hug. "have a drink." he passed her his cup and turned to Devon. "Welcome bro!"

"Uh, hey," Devon said, raising an eyebrow at how friendly he was. He wrapped an arm around Demi's waist to mark his territory.

Demi smiled as his arm went around her.
"Wellcome to the party we threw for Demi. Hope you love it gal." he kissed her cheek in a family like way before leaving.
"That was TJ. Until someone is actually in danger, he's an easy going guy."

Max: "Wait, no. I didn't say you had to leave!"

"Well it's kinda rude to ask why I'm here!" Dana said back.

Max: "Um...sorry," I mumbled. "I told you. I'm not very good at this."

"Good at what?" Dana said, confused.

Max: "Conversation and stuff."

"Oh.." Dana sighed.

"How do you know them when you've only lived here for a couple weeks..." Devon said slowly.

"I spend a lot of time at the pool." Demi shrugged. "They are nice enough. They know I rooming with Ty, so they think of me as a sister."

It still didn't make sense to Devon, but he shrugged. "Alright..." He shoved his hands in his pockets and rocked back and forth on his heels. He wasn't bad at parties, but this was weird because he didn't know anyone and ... it was just weird.

Demi took his hand and started walking down the shore line and pointed out some of the people she knew. She felt like a little kid again, at a party.

Julian sat on the porch with his sketch pad on his lap. his pencil rubbed back and forth on the piece of paper.

Devon guessed it was safe to act like a couple here...none of them knew his age. He just nodded as she pointed out different people, not really caring.

(I dislike Devon. He's a jerk.)

Paris noticed Julian on the porch, but didn't go out there. She remembered the last conversation they'd had on a porch, and figured she shouldn't.

(Yea...he is. Its a good thing demi really likes him.)

Demi looked around the beach and walked over to the camp fire. She sat down on a long close enough to the flames to give them some heat. it was nice to be together away from the group.

Julian's mind wandered to Paris. How pretty she was and how much she meant to him. "Paris, paris, paris...." He sighed to himself.

(There's no fathomable reason why she should ;P)

Devon sat down beside Demi on the log, feeling tense. He hated parties, especially 'stupid' teen ones like this. Maybe really was an issue with their age gap.

"Did you say my name?" Paris poked her head out the door as she passed, confused.

Demi curled against him as he sat down next to her. a couple other couples sat around them. "You dont want to be here, do you?" she sighed, feeling him tense.

(because she feels like she can act her own age around him.)

"Huh? Just talking to my self." Julian shrugged to him. He looked down at his sketch and sighed. He wanted to tell her how he felt, but he didnt want to ruin their friendship.

"Not really, but it's okay." Devon stroked her hair.

(that makes no sense)

"About me?" Paris raised an eyebrow, perching on the banister of the porch.

Demi smiled as he stroked her hair. "Thanks for coming with me. This party gave me an excuse to wear a dress." she played with th gem of the dress and smiled up to him.

Julian just shrugged and looked down at the paper. "What do you see?" he only saw black smudges on paper.

"It's a very pretty dress," Devon said with a smile.

Paris raised an eyebrow and shrugged. "Lines?"

Demi smiled up to him and kissed his cheek. "Im glad you like it."

Julian laughed lightly. "you see more than I do...I see smudges right now.

"Yeah..." Devon trailed off, not sure what else to say.

"Sorry?" Paris said with a wince. "What are you trying to draw?"
