Daughter of Darkness

Mirissa curled into him while she slept, her body trying to recover from the years of sleeping so lightly as to wake before someone came into her cell unnoticed. Her body was exhausted and she felt safe here. A soft smile came to her lips as she cuddled even closer.

Kale sighed and gave her a small smile. "It's alright. I'm use to it by now."

Jack chuckled and moved from his chair to a couch so he had better support while holding her.

Artemis frown "im sorry" she repeated "...can I help you?"

Kale just shrugged. "You've been asleep a long time. I thought it would be nice if you came and joined the living. Or at least joined me. I could use a little help in the kitchen if you'd like to help me."

Artemis nodded and hesitantly stepped forward "...what's a kitchen?"

I'm off to bed.. Night

night.

"Where I cut your hair earlier this morning. Where I cooked the food." Kale said and held his hand out to her.

"oh..." she allowed him to take her hand and guide her back. "I'm sorry about early... I didnt mean it that way"

"Don't worry about it," Kale muttered and led her into the kitchen. On the table sat a pot and a bunch of flowers. "Thought it would be nice. My mom used to love violets, and I figure since we're gonna be here for a while. Might as well. Besides, I'm bored."

Mirissa slept for a long time, only small nightmares haunting her sleep. She murmured his name a few times happily, the dream scaring the nightmares away. When she finally woke she looked at him and smiled.

Jack smiled down at her "Sleep well?" He brushed the hair from her face, resisting the urge to kiss her.

Mirissa smiled wider, "Yes, I've slept better here then I've done in years." She curled up against him further, resting her head on his chest, her face towards his as she blinked slowly. "Did you sleep?"

"No, I didn't." Jack smiled down at her, having a hard time resisting the urge to kiss her. He didn't want to blow it.

Mirissa smile was still sleepyish. "How come?" She asked as close as possible to him

"Because I was watching over you," Jack murmered. Unable to help himself any longer, he leaned down and kissed her gently.

Mirissa 's eyes flew open as she considered smacking him, several times. But instead she fell into the kiss and wrapped her arms around his neck so to kiss him better. There was a strange feeling in her heart that she discovered she liked as she kissed him back.

Jack felt a shiver of happyness run down his spine as he kissed her. He pulled away and looked down at her. "Was that ok?"

Mirissa grinned and furled even closer if possible. "It was perfectly okay." She told him searching his face with her eyes. "Did you like it?" She had never kissed someone on purpose before....

Jack chuckld and nodded. "I loved it." He kissed her nose gently. "I think I love you too."

She froze for a moment, letting the words settle in. "You love me?" Her voice was wondering. As if she couldn't possibly imagine that possible. Her eyes searched his face once again as if to draw the answer from there. He....loved her?

Jack watched her and gave a small nod, his eyes seeming to overflow with love.

She wrapped her arms tighter in there position still around his neck. "Well, then." She leaned in and kissed him lightly before pulling back, her courage poured into that kiss, it had taken every bit of it to touch her lips to his. When she did pull back she met his she's again. "I think I love you too."

Jack smiled widely at her and kissed her happily. He had only ever felt this way once about a girl, but even then it didn't feel as amazing as it did right then. He held her close, not ever wanting to let her go. The firey red head that had no problems meeting him head on, or kicking his butt.

Mirissa kissed him back, holding herself as close as possible to him. This all felt like a dream, she was afraid that if she let him go she would wake up in that cell, alone and scared. She couldn't stand that idea and kissed him again. She wasn't letting her dream go.

Jack kissed her back, trying his hardest to be good. One step at a time, he kept tellin himself. He kept his arms around her, his hands balled up in fists so as to keep his hands from roaming.

Mirissa continued to kiss him, letting a few of the kisses get deeper than before. She kept herself in place against him, her body quivering with feelings she'd never felt before. They were strange and she wasn't sure what to think of them
