Daughter of Darkness

Kale clung to her tightly, trying his best to comfort her as he listened to the stranger.
"He didn't. Then he heard all the prisoners escaped. Gabrielle was the only one who didn't escape, she was hidden from everyone else. She has the gift of site." Peter grimaced, his mind hurting something terrible. "I was caught and thrown back in with her and we've...been through a lot...I'm sure she probably hates me by now..."

Artemis felt herself slipping and it scared her shitless. So she pulled out her book and buried her nose in it, knowing she probably appeared rude, but she didn't care. It helped ground her, she didn't want to lose herself again

Peter watched her then looked away and sighed, closing his eyes. He reached out and gently prodded at Gabrielle's mind. "Gabrielle?" he asked tenetively (sp?)

Kale held her close and looked at the book. "Want me to read to you?"

Artemis shook her head, "no" she whispered, turning the page. this was something she needed to get through therefor she wanted to be the one reading. it gave her something to work at
(alright, another round or two then I'm off. I have class in the morning)

Mirissa smiled and tilted her head for a proper kiss. "How are you?"

Dani didn't really notice anything, she was on the edge of unconsciousness. She was revealed to be covered with deep gashes from the rocks on the ravine she'd fallen down. Her leg was broken an the doctor set it, grumbling as he did about the damage she could have caused by walking on it. When he was done he left, still grumbling about idiots.

Kale nodded and picked up his own book and began to read, still holding her.

Jack smiled and kissed her gently. "I'm alright, how are you?"

Coral stayed by her sisters side, watching her anxiously

Gabrielle did not respond, too lost in her own land to hear him

Mirissa smiled, "I'm fine." She thought for a moment and her stomach growled. "Hungry?"

Artemis continued to read, very proud of herself as she managed 10 pages in 40 minutes, then a 30

Jack chuckled as he watched her. "Want to get up and get something to eat?"

Peter prodded a little more urgently.

Dani stirred a little, wincing as her leg moved a little in the makeshift cast. Her mind was still spinning, she wasn't really sure how she even managed to get here. Her eyes fluttered a little and she moved as if to sit up.

Mirissa snuggled into him. "Maybe." Her stomach growled a little louder and she frowned.

Coral pushed her back down, looming over her "what are you doing back here?" her concern turned to anger "you wanna get us both killed?"

Gabrielle swatted away at his conscious, annoyed. she just wanted to be left alone

"Please Gabrielle....." Peter begged, a slight sob starting in his voice.

Kale tried to keep his eyes open, but fell asleep with his head still against Artemis's chest.

Jack chuckled. "Want to come? Or do you just want me to get it?"

Dani frowned, trying to push away what was holding her down. "What?" She blinked again and looked at Coral confused for a moment. Then the words registered in her mind and she gave a weak grin. "He wont kill us, I found the freaks."

Annoyed, gabrielle faintly acknowledged him with a dim 'what?'

Artemis watched the guy, he seemed off else where again. She occupied herself in her book and by running her fingers through kales hair

Mirissa sat up, the idea of staying in bed wasn't as comfortable without him staying there. "I'll come." She said decively and started looking around for clothing.

Coral raised an eyebrow, "you're bi-polar, now aren't you? who's side are you on? quick, decided before he imprisons us both!" she snapped, slightly agitated that her sister and abandon her the way she did

Jack smiled and got up, looking for his as well and pulled them on once he found them, waiting for Mirissa.

"Are you alright?" Peter asked, his voice quivering.

Kale held Artemis close, not wanting to let her go for anything, she kept the nightmares away.

"They found me smelling their roses, " Dani said softly, deciding telling her what happened would help. "One of them, Jack I believe, knocked me out and tied me to a chair. They started interrogating me, and of course I wasn't being very polite back. He punched me a few times," she drew up her shirt to show the buirse(sp) Jack left on her. "Then got mad cause I didn't shut up and sent me far away. I walked back here. I am not on their side. I see what daddy's talking about now. They're not fit for society. " she finished trying to forget she was one of those freaks.

Gabrielle allowed the connection to remain but said nothing, refusing to respond for a moment.
"where are we? I feel different, I feel..." she searched for the word "warm, and clean"

Artemis-

Coral fumed for a moment before softening, breaking out in a grin "welcome back!" she tackled hugged her

"We are away from the prison. We escaped Gabrielle, I got us out of there...we're in a house and there's a girl named Artemis that's a telepath too. She's the one that took care of you." Peter's voice still quivered, waiting for her to hit him with the onslaught of insults and hateful remarks. To blame him for the loss of the baby, for everything.

Mirissa located her clothes and grabbed his hand, practically dragging him out of the room behind her. She was starting to figure out that she really did get to eat yummy food whenever she was hungry and was eager to learn how to make something besides a sandwich.
