Kale shook his head and wrapped his arms around Artemis. "No, no I don't think they will. Even if they do I'll keep you safe. I promise."

Peter watched them for a moment before looking at his hands, unable to keep his eyes on the sight. "We should stay for a few days at least. Get our strength before we leave." He said to Gabrielle quietly.

Artemis swallowed hard and sunk into his arms "I'm scared" she admitted quietly

Gabrielle frowned, unable to glimsp how long her freedom would last, "we? please peter.. don't"

"Don't argue." Peter grumbled. "You can't get rid of me so you might as well just deal with it."

Kale rubbed her back gently as he held her close. "It's going to be ok. I promise." He kissed her forehead softly.

Gabrielle groaned "peter" she begged

Artemis swallowed hard and turned her attention back to her tea

"Don't. Argue." Peter growled and stood, walking back outside.

Kale watched her and sighed, glancing back at Gabrielle as if asking for help. He watched Peter leave curiously and raised his brow.

Gabrielle sighed and let her head drop to the table, hating herself at the moment

"Is everything ok?" Kale asked as he watched Gabrielle.

"he. he loves me" She murmured, her self loathing only growing

Kale looked at her confused. "Do..do you not love him?"

Gabrielle looked to him, her eyes tortured "my love would be the death of him"

"But you do love him." Kale pointed out as he watched her. He glanced down at Artemis, then at Gabielle, his eyes holding close to her same expression, hoping to tell her he understood. "In the end, we all die of something. Why not go out happy?"

Artemis watched the two curiously, feeling like she was missing something

Gabrielle bit her lip "but there's still hope" she whispered "if he'd let go, there would still be hope for him, a future. he just won't listen" her voice cracked in pain

Kale watched her closely and sighed. "Obviously he doesn't want it, if he won't let go. He knows the conciquences, whatever they may be."

"his death!" gabrielle cried "he'll die" she meet his gaze "what would you do if your love for her meant her death?" her eyes flickered to artemis

Now artemis was really confused. death? love? wha?
this subject was far too complicated for her liking

Kale felt his heart break as he thought about it and sighed watching her. "I'd do the same." he murmered, his grip tightening around Artemis slightly. "But what if the one you loved, pushed you away, telling you that you have to be alone?"

Gabrielle swallowed hard, her eyes becoming hallow as she fought to store away her emotions and escape the pain "what should I do?" she begged

Dani stumbled from the room and walked down the hall searching for her father.

(*grins* tay, just give gabrielle and peter time to bond first?)

Mirissa shivered, wrapping her arms around his neck. "We should." She decided firmly, leaning her head back so he could kiss her better. Her stomach let out a louder growl.

Kale sighed and looked down. "I'm not sure."

Seph- knocked out in a cell

Jack frowned at her stomach and sighed and started to pull away

"me either" Gabrielle whispered, staring out the window at peter

Artemis didn't know much about love, not nearly as much as them, at least. but she did know one thing, so she figured- might as well throw in her two cents. "there's no point in life, no point in living, if you aren't loved and don't love back"

Kale looked at Artemis and smiled. She had a point. A very good point.

Peter was just sitting outside, working on locking away emotion after emotion.

Gabrielle frowned, the shy girl had a point.
"you guys love each other" she noted quietly

Mirissa frowned and pulled him back for a deep kiss. "I thought we were staying?" She asked her lip out in a pout.

Dani ground him and half knelt half collasped at his side. "Daddy?" She asked giving him a hard shake..

Seph groaned as he started to come to. "Wha?"

Jack kissed her back, easily giving in. "but your stomach says you're hungry," he murmered between kisses.
