The Fast and the Furriest.

Peter

"It's someone else like us," I told him confidently. I sniffed the air again, trying to figure out the direction. "And it's...this way." I turned and sped off towards the new smell, not checking to see if Cricket was following; I didn't think it mattered either way, since I planned to come right back.

Ezra

I looked up to see a dog speeding towards me, I stood my ground firmly and glared at the new commer. "Who are you?" I barked, oh lord I barked.

Cricket

I watched him run off, and looked back to the group. A deer, a snake, a raven, an annoying cat and a dog that looked like his nose had been squashed after running into one too many walls. Interesting clan, we had there. "Oi my my."

The pug cocked his head, tongue hanging out the side like a sticky pink ribbon. "Friend?"

"Ah . . . aye, ah . . . 'ey Pete! Wait up." I scampered after him.

Peter

Familiar smell, familiar voice, and the unmistakable scent of a human-animal. ...Though I figured the human scent wouldn't last too long. And it would probably vanish completely if we stood out in the rain for a few hours or something. So it was the unmistakable scent of a new human-animal.

"I'm Peter," I barked back. "Who're you?"

Ezra

"Peter?! It's Ezra! How...why are we?!" I barked, I knew by my own bark I sounded panicked, I took a deep breath and composed myself. "Why are we like this?"

Peter

"No one knows," I told Ezra. "It's not just you and me, either. There's Cricket, Marley, Freya, either a raven or crow who I think is Jamie, some deer girl, and--" I shuddered slightly "--Mr. Face. Who has a face now. Also, Alex is apparently lurking around, but he's still human...er, I mean habui. We were going to look for him next."

Cricket

I walked up right as the dog was panicking, and my ears laid back. "Ouch, sheesh, calm down doggie . . . these ears are pretty sensative now . . ." Waitpardon. Ezra. Alright. "I'm assuming you don't know any more than we do?"

Ezra

I looked down at the cat, "Cricket?Don't call me doggie." I glanced at Peter, "Eh? Alex? Still human? Think he can help?"

Peter

"Well..." I paused. "I dunno, maybe. Probably not. But he might be inclined to help Marley, at the very least. I don't really know their whole family situation, but I think Alex is the slightly less jerkassier one. Again, I dunno."

Ezra

I sighed, and stood up on all four paws. "Where are the others?"

Cricket

"There's a thought," I said, wishing I'd thought of that before I'd messed with Alex. But then, I only untied his shoelace . . . it wasn't like it was unforgiveable. I turned to Ezra. "Pardon? You're talking t' th' kid that's been called after a bug 'is whole life. I consider doggie a step up."

Peter

"The others are back over here," I told Ezra. "Come on, I'll lead you to them. Of course, you should be able to smell them now." I turned around and bounded back the way I'd come.

Ezra

I glared at Cricket, "Just like you have your name I have mine and it's not doggie." I sniffed the air, and ran after Peter.

Cricket

I scampered after them, thinking to myself that I wouldn't be offended if he called me Kitty. But, that's just me, I supposed. Maybe I was just used to being called things other than my name. Ah well.

Mr.Face:

Oh thank Internet. "Splendid." I muttered, forcing myself yet again to use those infernal eyes to evaluate the location she spoke about. And...There it was. I closed them again. They caused my head to hurt.
I began walking...albeit somewhat awkwardly on four legs, toward the roofed area. "Are you coming?" I called to the wiggly stick, whom I was formulating a hypothesis regarding the identity of.

Freya: If snakes could sigh, i wouldve. As it was, i wasnt entirely certain a snake could sigh, and i wanst inclined to try. I settled for a mental-sigh. "Yes, i am coming. But that thing has a cold concrete floor, which id best stay off of unless some of its been in the sun a while..... this whole cold-blooded thing is a pain." i grumbled, slithering after the wolverine.

Hitomi
Another dog. Maybe it was just the deer in me, but then I never liked dogs much. And they move too darn fast, but then long legs helped with that a little. At least I could see them and the direction they ran off at so I could catch up. Maybe it was the impatient dog in them, but they seemed to have a problem with waiting up and not chasing after whatever strikes their fancy.

Ezra

I skidded to a halt, trying not to fall in front of a deer. I looked up, wow, I'd never been this close to one before. "Uh...hi?"

Mr.Face:

I heard the wiggly stick talking behind me as I walked. Complaining about being cold blooded. I didn't know what that meant, entirely, but I assumed that she needed warmth to function properly.
Interesting.
I reached the roofed area, and immediately felt myself untense. This was exponentially better. "If you would like to remain in the grass just outside...I do not think that that would prevent us from communicating." I stated, hazarding another glance through my eyes and seeing that no walls served to delineate the difference between under the roof and on the concrete or outside the roof and on the grass. I closed my eyes again.

Hitomi
The newest dog notices me. That silly uncomfortable feeling... "Hello." Ezra, going by all of the hubub around him. All of these people turned animals seem to know each other. Except me. Isn't it fun to be the odd man out...?

Ezra

"I'm Ezra, Ezra Cox. What's your name?" I woofed, tilting my head to the side curiously.

Freya: "Probably not. As such, it would likely be best if i stayed here." i said, coiling up in a sunny grassy spot just outside the shelter.

Hitomi
"Hitomi Nguyen," I say. Ezra, as I've gathered. And Cricket, and Peter. Mr. Face, and Freya. Amazing what people can learn just by listening. Not that that bothered me. I was usually shy. Perhaps that's why I was turned into a fawn.

Ezra

"That's a cool name. Do you have any idea why we're like this?" I asked her.

Hitomi
I flick an ear back, one forward at him. I suppose the animal way of raising a surprised eyebrow. "And why would I hide such information?" I ask, tilting my head questioningly. Answering a question with a question...how I love it.

Ezra

I shrugged...sorta. "I'm not accusing you, I just wondered if you knew anything." I said.
