Daughter of Darkness

Mirissa raised. Her head again and wrinkled her nose slightly. "Food?" Her stomach did a little flip-flop and she pursed her lips. "If possible that sounds worse than before."

The next morning, Kale woke up feeling grogy and disoriented. His head was conjested, pounding like crazy, and a small fever raced across his skin. He ignored most of it though, pushing it as far from his mind as possible. In his sleep he had pulled away from Artemis and was laying beside her, though his whole body was under the covers now, his arms wrapped tight around her, and his head in her stomach.

Tucker looked down at her, his brow raising a bit more, then furrowing. That wasn't good. "No food then?"

Artemis stirred, blinking wildly as she felt a body up against hers. What the hell was damian doing? She startled, pushing the body off her, quivering slightly.

Kale groaned as he fell off the bed and onto the floor with a huge thud. That hurt.

Artemis stared, convinced she was hallucinating. "k-kale?" She whimpered, unable to bring herself to move

Mirissa shook her head. "No food. Just the thought makes me-," she broke of and darted out his arms to run for the bathroom.

"Yes, Artemis?" Kale groaned as he sat up, his head now pulsating. He climbed back into bed and under the covers, holding her close.

Tucker sighed and followed after her, holding her hair for her.

Artemis stared, sliding over his chest and examining his face "is that you?" she touched his lips tentatively.

Kale gave a small nod. "Yes, Artemis. We've gone over this," he murmered, his eyes closed. He wished the pounding would stop. He did his best to push past it and search his mind, bringing the memories of everything that's happened to the surface for her to see.

Mirissa puked into dry heaves then just leaned back against. Him. She may not be tired any more but not eating was taking a serious toll on her body.

Artemis frowned, seeing the pain interrupting his thoughts,She traced his face, trying to convince herself he was here "you okay?"

Kale gave a small nod as he held her. "Ya, just don't feel to great," he murmered, his deep brown eyes staring into hers.

Tucker sighed as he lifted her up, carrying her back to the bed and laying her down. "What about something small? Like crackers?"

Artemis furrowed her eyebrows, bringing he lips to his as she touched his mind. "may I help?"

Mirissa frowned then nodded slightly with her brow furrowed. "It's worth a shot." She told him slowly.

Tucker gave a small nod and went and got some crackers, bringing them back to her. "Here you go," he said as he sat next to her, handing them over.

Mirissa sniffed one then wrinkled her nose before nibbling on the edge of the cracker, her stomach churning. Upon finishing the cracker she grimaced and held her stomach. "I'm not letting it come back up." She declared as if she had a choice.

Tucker watched her and looked around, wondering if there was a way to distract her so it wouldn't come back up. "Uh, ok," he agreed with a small nod, then kissed her gently, that being the only thing that had come to mind.

Kale kissed her back and gave a small nod, opening his eyes to look at her with a small smile. "You can try if you want to," he murmered, wincing slightly as the pain became more defined.

Artemis wrapped herself around him, gently entering his mind and sending energy in, trying to fix what was broken. She deepened the kiss, though more more herself than to help him heal. She finished and pulled away. "better?"

Kale gave a small nod as he gave her a goofy, very intoxicated grin. "A bit, yes. Thank you." He kissed her again, his arms wrapping around her and holding her tight.

Artemis grinned back, pure joy fulling her innocent features. "Guess what," she chirped.

"What?" Kale murmered as he held her.

Artemis rested her head on his chest, closing her eyes happily. "I love you." her voice was soft but filled with more sureness than if she were to state the sky is blue.

Kale smiled down at her, his fingers tracing up and down her spine, barely brushing against the skin. "I love you, too," he murmered quietly. He looked around, trying to decide where they were at exactly. "Where's Mirissa? I thought she would have gone with you if you were to leave."

Artemis tensed, squeezing her eyes tightly as pain and betrayal filled her. She didn't answer, just seethed.
