Megan looked at him in udder shock. Her mouth hung open. "Really? WHy?" She asked thinking about it. SHe... she liked him yes but... why did he have to say it?

Derek smiled an amused smile. He started writing again. 'Well then, I'm honored to have a student like you. I just heard nothing about lock picking...' he looked at her and his smile widened. He then looked down at the notebook and wrote some more. 'Thank you for putting up with me, Blaire and being my friend. I appreciate it.' He showed it to her, his eyes locking on her. His eyes held warmth and brightness. His smile grew a bit more.

Rose's smile grew more. "You're welcome, but I was just speaking the truth. It's hard to think people don't appreciate it." Her smile grew as she listened happily. She was enjoying his music a lot and she new how he felt about playing. As she watched him play, she realized that how sweet he was and that she liked that about him...

James dropped his arms and looked down, biting his lip. He should have just kept his mouth shut. He let out a slow and slightly shaky breath as he felt his heart start to break slightly. No one had ever been able to hurt him with as little words as she did. "Yeah, really. Because I do. I probably just should have kept my mouth shut."

Megan tipped her head up to the sun. "I do like you." Megan said in a small voice. SHe just met the guy though. Myabe she should go for him but inside she wanted to get to know him before she did anything like this. "I always think before... I want to get to know you better."

James stared at the ground, a small smile on his lips. He looked at her out of the corner of his eye. "What do you want to know, Megan?" He finally lifted his head and looked at her, his breath catching in his throat. The way the sun was it made her look like a goddess and he shook the thought from his head and watched her.

"Anything." Megan whispered closing her eyes. The sun made her skin look ivoy and beautiful. Her eyes were a icy blue to the pale skin. Her lips and snakebites stood out. She smiled at him and the sunlight made her smile look white.

James watched her and thought. "Like I said, I'm a complete geek. I love romance books even though I'm a guy, I love to write romance books and stories. I also like writing in other genres too. I love anything that's art, drawing, painting, photography. I play the violin and have actually had offers for college scholarships due to it. I want to be a journalist, writer, photographer, musician or artist, but my parents want me to be something sensible like a doctor or lawyer. I plan on doing something that I want to do though. I also don't want to be here right now because my younger sister is sick and I should be at home helping out with her, but my parents sent me here instead. I was born on the 31st of October and I'll be 20 when my birthday comes." His eyes locked on her as he took in a breath. "Anything else you want to know?"

Megan shook her head. "No.... nothing. Your turning 20?" She said looking at him with her eyes. She just turned 18. "Do you smoke?" SHe asked him curiously.

James closed his eyes and nodded. "Yes, twenty. My parents used to be hippies and didn't send me to school until I was six almost seven and then I also failed kindergarten." He kept his eyes closed and realized he saw her behind his eyes. "Nope, I plan on keeping my lungs in good shape."

"Thats good." She whispered. He was her dream man. She smiled at him. "I like that you wont smoke... I lost my mom to smoking problems." She admited. She didnt like talking about it but it was true.

James smiled and opened his eyes. "It is?" He watched her a moment and his smile vanished. He rested a hand on arm and rubbed gently. "I'm sorry Megan." His eyes were sincere and caring. They were also full of sympathy. He had lost his older brother for the same reason.

Megan nodded. Tears sprinkled her eyes. "My mom was... like my best friend. She didnt care what I looked like. She knew that I was her little girl." She said in a whisper.

James wrapped his arms around her and hugged her. "I know how you feel. my older brother was like a dad to me since my actual dad was never home. My brother died of lung cancer that was caused by smoking." He closed his eyes and held her close. "So if you need to, you can cry, darling."

Megan nodded. She felt ackward but tears fell down her slim cheeks. When ever Megan remebered her mother she would put on her brave face and suck it up. For once she felt like it was okay to cry.

James pulled her closer and rubbed her back gently, letting her know he was there for her. He knew that there was nothing he could actually say to make her feel better so he stayed quiet and continued to rub her back. He wanted her to know that she didn't have to be brave around him.

Megan stopped crying 30 minutes later. She took a deep breath. "Thank you." SHe whispered. SHe kissed his cheek. She blushed a deep scarlet and looked down. "Sorry..."

James continued to cradle her in his arms and rub her back for the thirty minutes until she stopped crying. "You're welcome darling." He smiled when she kissed him on the cheek and his eyes locked on her. He took her chin in his hand and tipped her head up so he could look into her eyes. "What are you apologizing for?"

Blaire: "No, you heard something about lock picking. Im very very good at lock picking...." i said. I saw the second thing he'd written, blinking in surprise. "Its no problem, i guess. Honestly, ive never really had a lot of friends. I usually find people annoying. I dont mind you though." i said, smiling a bit. From me, that was massive praise.


Ash: I finished the song, thinking about what she said. "Yeah, well, there are some people i could mention who think playing music is a waste of time." i said, frowning.

Derek smiled widely at her and rested his head on her shoulder. He looked down at the notebook and started writing. 'I'll remember that if I ever need in a locked room.' He chuckled silently and grinned. 'Well, it's nice to have someone like me somewhat.'

Rose frowned when he frowned. "Your parental units?" She watched him curiously, knowing how he felt. Her eyes stayed glued to him and her frown deepened slightly.

Blaire: I was mildly surprised by the sudden contact, but sat still and tolerated it. I was not normally a touchy-feely person...... so this was somewhat awkward for me. But i managed to tolerate it anyways. "Someone like you somewhat?" i asked. Did he think we were super alike or something...?


Ash: I sighed. "Yeah. Pretty much anyone in my family, actually. Music is not a hgihly prized skill for vampires, i guess. They're always trying to make me get rid of my guitar and learn to fight. I can fight pretty well, i guess, but i dont like fighting people if i can avoid it." i said.

Derek smiled slightly and sat there for a moment before writing. 'Most people walk away after they find out I can't talk and they act like thy don't like me or can't stand me. So, thank you, Blaire.' He smile slightly at her.

Rose nodded and knew how he felt. "I know how you feel. My parental units don't approve of anything I do. They also say that I'm getting married to a certain person whether I like it or not." Sh shrugged and watched him.

Blaire: I snorted. "That's stupid. There's no reason to hate someone just because they cant talk." i said. "Dont thank me. It just means that im not a moron." i said, chuckling a bit.


Ash: I frowned. "That sucks. My parents attempted playing matchmaker a few times. Didnt work out though. They're always trying to change me. I swear, when i started getting piercings, my mom was inches away from ripping them out with her bare hands." i said, chuckling a bit. "Ive always kind of been worried that they'd try to force me into marrying some stuck up vampire from a noble family or something. They havent really tried very hard yet, but im pretty sure its coming. Im trying to break away from them before that happens." i said. "Im not going to let them rule my life."

Derek smiled and cuddled against her. His smile widened slightly. he wrote again. 'I agree completely. You're right, you aren't a moron, you're really smart.' he grinned a small, shy grin and closed his eyes for a moment.

Rose nodder in agreement. "I'd try to ignore it more, but I h
have the issue of being under eighteen, otherwise I would not be living with them when I'm outside of school." She watched him.

James smiled and bit his lip. He swallowed and looked into he eyes, fighting the urge to kiss her. He stroked her cheek gently. "You sure it was nothing?" He raised an eyebrow, his breath catching in his throat because of her beauty.

"Im sure." She whispered. His scent... was... breathtaking. She couldnt think properly. His eyes were... dark adn mysterious and it turned her on. She gave him a shy smile.

Blaire: I chuckled. "Gee, thanks. Yeah, i figure im pretty smart despite having spent minimal time in a classroom." i said, grinning. Where i would normally mind the invasion of my personal bubble, at the moment i didnt mind it. I was relaxed, actually kind of enjoying this moment.


Ash: I nodded. "Ah. Im nineteen and have my own place, but my parents still constantly try to meddle in my affairs. Its a pain...." i grumbled, frowning. "Most of my family is sort of...er, crazy. My dad threatened to burn my house to the ground if i didnt willingly come here." i said, a little embarassed about it. My parents were strict as hell and had very.... INTERESTING ideas regarding punishments and threats.
