To Love Is Nothing

Jake - I got up and headed out with Liz, realizing that Anastasia hadn't gotten up. Once out of ear shot I spoke, "Why do you think she stayed?"

Anastasia - I looked down at the table after catching Alex's gaze.

Alex - "You want to know what I get out of this, don't you?" I asked her softly after looking into her starry blue eyes.

Elizabeth: "Questions. He's about to answer her questions," I said, remembering what I had seen on her lifeline. I shook my head. "Bad choice on her part."

Jake - "Care to explain?" I wondered what she meant by that.

Anastasia - "Yes," I look up at him.

Alex - "I get to raise the kids, we all would raise them, but they would learn to respect me, and then we could have the most powerful species of all, with the strengths of every race, but without the weaknesses," I smile as I go on telling her my plan. "It would create world peace." I tell her this, knowing it's a lie, and knowing that it isn't my plan to create world peace, but also I know that she will be more likely to approve.

Elizabeth: I shook my head. "It's not in your lifeline to know, not yet. Sorry," I gave him an apologetic smile.

Jake - I sigh, "Now I want to know." I pout jokingly.

Anastasia - "So, you really just want what is best for the world?" I ask skeptically.

Liz: "I'd tell you if it wouldn't mess up your lifeline. Then again, it's already messed up beyond repair, just from you staying in this house for a day."

Corrigan: I couldn't help myself - I listened to Anastasia and Alex's conversation through the door.

Alex - "Is that so hard for you to believe?" I ask trying to make my voice pitiful, "Is it hard for you to believe that a vampire actually cares?"

Jake - "True, but I wouldn't want you to get into any trouble," I smile.

Anastasia - "I," I stutter lightly, "I guess it's just that I have some preconceived notions about vampires, and you feeding off of me didn't help."

Corrigan: I barely restrained myself from going in there and telling her he was a big, stupid liar. I could talk to her about it later.

Liz: I smiled and held Jake's hand as we walked. "Are you always this thoughtful?"

Jake - "No, it must be something you bring out in me," I tell her.

Alex- "That's understandable, but please tell me you understand why I must keep you here," I fake beg her. I needed her to understand, or at least think she did.

Anastasia - "I guess I do, but I just don't see why you couldn't have asked for people who knew what they were getting into, volunteers," I sigh.

Liz: "Seriously, stop being so cute," I laughed. Jake was the nicest guy I had ever met, by far.

Corrigan: Because he's a wretched human being, that's why! He's lying to you, Anastasia!

Jake - "I can't help it, I'm naturally cute," i smirk.

Alex - "It had to be the best!" I tell her passionately.

Anastasia - "How are we the best? I mean I get Liz, she's amazing, and Corrigan has the whole telepath thing down, and even Jake has something about him, even though I don't know what he is yet. Me though, I'm human, so why me?"

Corrigan: Yes, really, why her? I had been wondering the same thing.

Liz: I rolled my eyes and laughed. We had reached our floor. ((What floor are they on anyway?))

Alex - "Because, you have every advantage a human could possibly have, you're honest, goal-oriented, beautiful, inspiring, open minded, caring, imaginative, devoted, respectful,and obedient when need be," I tell her the truth about why she was picked.

Jake - "Well, guess this is goodnight." I say sadly.

Corrigan: What a kiss up. Not that he was lying, but still.

Elizabeth: I reached up on my toes, Jake was taller than me, and kissed him on the cheek. " 'Night!" I said in a singsong voice before slipping inside my room.

Jake - I blushed as I touched where her lips had touched. I smiled as I went into my room.

Anastasia - "Oh," I say standing up. "Well, not that I'm saying what you did was right, but at least you have a morally good reason," I tell him.

Corrigan: I rolled my eyes. Now she sounded full of herself.

Elizabeth: I crawled into bed with a smile on my face and fell asleep.

Alex - I grinned, "I knew you would understand." I stand up and kiss her forehead gently.

Anastasia - I step away from him, "One more question," I bit my lip, "If I was meant to be with you, then who was meant for Corrigan?"

Corrigan: I stopped cold. I didn't want to hear this - did I?

Alex - "Corrigan isn't your type," I growl, "and to be honest you aren't his." I hate that she is thinking of him. "His girl hasn't arrived yet, she's one of my old friends, a witch."

Anastasia - "You think he doesn't like me?" I ask sadly. "Well, I'm sure he'll love her."

Corrigan: A witch? Hardly my type at all. Anastasia was more - NO don't even think of her that way.

Alex - "Sorry, but I actually think that you are a burden to him, you are acting too dependent on him," I urge her silently to stop speaking to him.

Anastasia - "I agree," I say, "I'm acting like a little girl."

Corrigan: No, quit feeding her lies! I wished I could say something, but I couldn't very well just bust in.

Alex - "Well, I really must be off, I have to go into town to get a few things," I tell her about to leave the room, "Remember that if you need anything I will be here for you."

Anastasia - I nod as I watch him leave. Sighing I get up and head for the door.

Corrigan: Crap. I quietly ran towards the stairs, trying to avoid being caught as an eavesdropper. Not quickly enough, though. Anastasia spotted me.

Anastasia - I saw Corrigan and stared at him. "Where you listening?" I asked him angrily.
