C. D. - character development

Skipper bows deeply to the guards, who return the gesture with slight bows from the waist. It's a formalised greeting, and as Skipper has a low status in most circles, she is expected to bow the lowest. The guards move their pikes apart to allow her through. She turns to face the others. "You lot coming?"

" Woah," said Cassie, who had followed skipper.
"WAIT!!!!!" cried Evan.

"Yes?" Asks Skipper. "Can I help?"

Penny: "Are you guys okay?"

"Yeah..." said Evan, who was stumbling alot. He didn't do well with heights. "On second thought...I think I'm gonna be sick!"

Penny: "Please don't throw up..."

Dan:
"Yeah don't puke, I'll binarize you if you do" I say.

Evan groaned, he still was looking a little green. "I think...I'll make it." Cassie, however, is looking fine and perfectly cheery.

Dan:
"Why is he sick?" I whisper to Skip.

"Pff, beats me," replies Skip. "I suppose the landing platform is quite high."

Dan:
"Hmm, I'm not afraid of heights having the ability to fly will do that to you"

"I can imagine," replies Skipper. "By the way, don't mess with the guards. Those sticks may look like ancient history weapons, but they're also automatic rifles."

Dan:
"Cool! I need to get me one of those!"

"We'll see about it, but don't go trying to steal one. We're currently allied with the Modarks, so if you start an interplanetary incident, you're pretty much screwed."

Dan:
"Oh... ok I'll try not to cause to much trouble" I say smiling mischievously.

"Seriously. if they realise you can regenerate, they'll cut you into pieces and seal the pieces in molten lead. We Nuska take insults and suchlik seriously," Skipper wags a finger in warning. "Seriously, we know how to hold a grudge."

Dan:
"Ok ok I said I wouldn't do anything!"

"Forgive me if I don't believe you," replies Skipper. "Come on, let me show you the sights."
She walks into the city, a mass of delicate white buildings that spear high into the air. On closer inspection, the buildings are not flawless, but made of smooth stone, and appear orange in the sunlight.

Dan:
"Fancy, what kind of material is this?" I ask placing my palm on one of the buildings.

"'S just rocks. Ma-Tra, in my language. It's mainly silicon, but with carbon and iron as well. It forms small irregular crystals that refuse to slide over each other, making it strong but brittle."

Dan:
"Nice, can it conduct electricity?"

"No. It's surprisingly similar to your granite, just a lighter colour and smoother texture."

Dan:
"Interesting, I'm sure my friends over at Area 51 would love to get a sample of this"

"I think they'd get bored of it after fifteen minutes. It's easier to carve than some of your stones, but it's a joke compared to modern materials, such as silksteel, plastic, and luxet."

Dan:
"We have plastic on Earth" I say, I pull out a candy wrapper and show her, "See?"
