Daughter of Darkness

Mirissa glared at the boy, then sighed. She hated the light but..."There's a light switch by the door." She said in reply to Joesph. Then looked to Penelope, "Check up on me? That's new."

((Lolz its okay, I know what she looks.like ))

Penelope smiled meekly at the girl. "I'm fairly new here, and...I can heal so they thought they could make some use of me."

Joesph turned around and found the switch, once he saw the light come on. He saw a red headed girl, with her hair short enough to see the same mark that was on his sister's neck on hers. He also noticed the girls eyes odd, yet enchanting to him. He also notice her squirming from the light. "You want me to turn the lights out?"

The guards cursed and slammed opened her door. Artemis flinched and closed her eyes, the light from the hall temporally blinding her.
"now you've done it" One of the men snarled, roughly picking her up and jostling her. Artemis stared him down, gathering up the courage to spit on his shoe. bad idea. he threw her to the ground and they converged, fist barred

Mirissa nodded, she hated being blind. "Well, there isn't really to much right now.." she placed a hand over her arm that was covered in bruises. A guard banged on the door.
"Hurry up!"

The guards opened up the cell baring three other prisoners. one stuck his head in, weapon at the ready as he assessed the prisoners- one boy, two girls, before opening up the door fully to allow another guard to toss in a limp figure "for you to deal with" he sneered to the younger girl.
the figured laid out cold on the ground, her dark hair splayed over her face and parted to reveal a mark across the pale skin of her neck. The figure shuddered, fresh wounds marked her body

Penelope knew that the girl was hiding something from her, she must've had some kind of injury...but then the guards pushed in another girl, this one looked hurt. "Is she alright?" she asked the guards.
"Just heal her and get out." they said as they slammed the door in her face.

Joesph didn't get much of a glimpse of the person they thrown in, but he noticed that she was very beautiful. But they way the guards threw her in there, she was probably as dangerous as the other girl. "Who are you?"

(um um um... please don't make me rewrite that all.. please keep penelope in the room? me is too tired to think of a new way to squirm artemis in o.O)

Mirissa flinched as the door was opened letting in some light. One of the guards poked his head back in and grinned evilly before flipping the switch back on. Light flooded the room and Mirissa shrunk back in the corner, unable to see. She hoped that girl was okay.

Artemis stirred and wiped some blood from her brow before forcing herself into a seated position. she eyed the others wearily, not sure what to expect "Artemis" she managed, her head feeling like it was hit by a train.. repetitively

Penelope noticed from the new light that Artemis was hurt, she quickly ran to her side. "Are you alright?" she quickly placed her hands on the fresh wounds, trying to make them close up as quick as she could.

"Don't waste all your energy, Penelope!" Joesph ordered, he wasn't being mean to Artemis, he was just not wanting his sister to pass out after healing this girl of all her wounds so quickly. He then noticed the scar on her neck. "You're...marked too?"

Mirissa flinched as the black shapes in her otherwise white vision moved then faded from sight.

((She can only see movement when she's in light.))

artemis stiffened at her touch. She gasped and stared at the girl as her wounds began to heal. the boys question finally got through to her and she unwilling met his gaze "yes" she whispered "unfortunately"

Penelope kept healing Artemis, yet still noticing the other girl's (Mirissa's) flinching body. "Joesph, turn off the lights."

Joesph obeyed and turned off the lights. Three girls...? All marked? He rubbed his bare neck. And yet I don't have one.

Mirissa crept towards them, "The mark.." her voice trailed off as she ran her hand over the mark covering the majority of her face and neck.

"the mark" Artemis responded, pulling away from the girl's healing touch "I'm fine.. thank you though. The mark of the cursed, I would say" she scowled, bringing her knees to her chin

Mirissa flinched, "Yes...most do." She pulled back into her corner.

Penelope looked over at the direction of the girl. (Mirissa) "You're mark is large, other than my and Artemis'."

Joesph was rather speechless, he kept mostly away from what was going on. They girls were only strangers anyway... Yet they could know something about Penelope's mark...
"Were either of your born with that mark?" he asked.

Mirissa flinched again, refusing to reply.

Artemis looked the strange boy over, what a silly question "of course.. why?"

Penelope looked over at her brother, she knew what he was trying to do. He was trying to figure out why so many people here had similar marks on their necks. Not many people knew, they just called it marked of the cursed ones, but he thought there was something deeper to it.

Joesph knew Artemis found him silly for asking the question. But he had to know, he had to know what was connecting Penelope and the others. And it wasn't going to be that they were all just cursed. "No reason, I just...wanted to know."

Mirissa took a deep breath, "I wasn't." Her voice was barely a whisper.

Artemis grimaced, his true intentions flash over to her via telepathy "be careful what you wish for. the secretes of the cursed could do you more harm than good. curiosity killed the cat"
Artemis turned to the other girl " you weren't?"
