The Village

Peter stared at her, his face falling slightly. His eyes searched her face and he sighed, looking to the ground as he gave a small nod. "we should go get ready for the wedding." He murmered.

Artemis sighed in relief "yes, we should" she released his hand and stood up, still shaking slightly

The rest of the day was spent getting ready for Cillia's wedding that took place the next day. Peter kept quiet, as usual the brooding look coming to his face each time he got lost in his work. That night, Peter didn't sleep again. He sat on the porch infront of Artemis's window, protecting her.

Artemis slept through the night, exhausted from the preparations that day. She awoke to the rising sun and scrambled off her bed and to her window, eager to see if peter was there

Peter was still sitting there, leaning agaisnt the pillar that kept the porch roof up, his eyes distant and thoughtful. Dark circles were starting to form underneath them, this being his second night without sleep.

"hi" artemis whispered, wondering if he was just sleeping with his eyes open. she hoped so, he needed rest

"Morning," Peter murmered, not turning to look at her, still lost in thought.

"did you sleep at all?" Artemis asked, slipping into her robe and out the window

Peter pulled his eyes away from the distant nothing he had been staring at and looked at her, giving her a small smile. "No. No I didn't."

Artemis frowned "why? you need your sleep!"

Peter watched her and chuckled. "I wouldn't be doing a very good job of protecting you if I fell asleep, now would I?"

"protecting me? well anyway- how can you do that if you're not sharp and well rested?"

Peter smiled at her and chuckled. "Oh, I'm fine. Don't worry." His eyes searched her face. "Did you sleep well?"

Artemis gave a small smile, "indeed, I did. are you excited for today?"

"Of course." Peter said with a small smile, though it didn't quiet reach his eyes. "How could I not be?" He stood and streached, the bones in his body cracking as he did so.

Artemis shrugged, falling silent and tucking her robe around her tighter. it was rather unladylike to be dressed as such, but oh well.

haha I thought a little bit of a love triangle might make life interesting.


"You should get inside before you catch a cold. It's still cold out." Peter murmered, again putting his coat around her.

Jason was out and about already, his eyes darting around curiously.

Artemis sighed and nodded, gratefully slipping into his coat "hey, peter?"

"Yes?" Peter asked as he raised a brow at her curiously. Jason had reached that end of town by now and was walking to go see Artemis.

"get some sleep, k?" Artemis sighed, stepping back into her room and glancing at him for a long moment before pilling the curtains tightly closed and setting about getting ready for the day

Peter rolled his eyes and went to get ready.
Jason came to the house and snuck up onto the porch, rapping on her window.

Artemis quickly finished lacing up her deep blue dress before smiling to herself and parting the curtains "yes pet-...ter?... jason?"

Jason met her with a kiss and smiled. "Well goodmorning beautiful." He grinned. "Wanna walk with me?"

Artemis startled and pulled back, "Jason, how dare you!"
