The Village

Artemis giggled softly, the action feeling foreign, but good. "I'll bring it up" she sighed, snatching the basket and climbing up

Cillia continued to chew her lip as she watched Artemis climb up the rungs on the ladder.

Peter smiled widely at her, taking the basket as she reached the top. "Thank you."

"mhm" Artemis replied, looking around curiously "what a view" she breathed

Peter chuckled, still wearing the safe color cloak, the hood up. He gave a small nod. "You should go back to the village, it's still not safe."

Artemis nodded and spared one last view before slowly descending

Peter watched and sighed. He couldn't wait for night fall. He wanted to spend a night in his own bed for once.

Cillia was still chewing on her lip as she watched her come down. "Thank you for taking that up there." She blushed slightly.

"of course" Artemis replied "why are you so scared of heights?"

Cillia bit her lip and took Artemis's arm and quickly walked away from the edge of the woods, slowing as soon as she thought they were a safe distance away. "When I was young, I was climbing, and I fell from the tree. I was just as high as the tower, if not higher."

Artemis gasped "were you okay?"

Cillia shrugged. "More or less. Just some broken bones. But still, scared me to death." She gave a small smile as they entered the village. "So, have you got your eye on any men here?"

Artemis blushed and shrugged, "not in particular.. thought quiet a few have their sites set on me" she frowned "and you?"

Cillia smiled and shrugged. "I don't know, Henry the smithy is cute and seems to take a fancy to me." She blushed a deep red. He hadn't just shown fancy in her. She often snuck off with him to the soft hay in the barn behind the house, though they never did anything to bad. "I think Peter has taking a liking to you."

Artemis looked up at her "you do?"
huh, he was kinda cute...

Cillia nodded. "He doesn't usually smile that much. Only when you're around." She tugged her towards the house. They still had to sweep off the porch and everything else.

Artemis shrugged it off, losing herself in the chores they had to do, not stopping till night fall

At night fall, Peter came home. His hands were deep in his pockets, his brow furrowed. He had been lost deep in thought for the last few hours.

Artemis collapsed on the porch chairs, watching the figure walk toward them "peter's home" she called to Cilla

Cillia came out of the door, still drying dishes. "Oh, good. Tell him to start a fire when he comes in. And he better have my basket." She turned and went back to the kitchen to finish putting away dishes.

Peter walked up to the porch his arm through the basket. He glanced at Artemis and gave her a small smile, though he wasn't fully brought from his thoughts.

"hello" artemis smiled back "cilla asked that I send to make a fire for her?"

"Oh, yes. Yes, of course." Peter nodded and gave a small smile and walked inside, setting the basket on the table and coming back out to gather fire wood from around the side of the house.

Artemis watched him, finding the site very.... entertaining. "how was your day? was the bread warm enough?"

"Huh? Oh, yes. It was a warm day." Peter muttered, meshing the two questions by accident as he took the wood inside to the fire place and started a fire.

Artemis slumped and remained outside, watching the sky darken

Peter came back out and sat on the porch. "You should probably go inside, it's getting late." He murmered as he sat there.

Artemis nodded and stood, looking back to him "you coming?"
