Daughter of Darkness

Kale wrapped his arms tight around her holding her close. "I don't know, Artemis. I think it's just because we're different...we're different and it scares them."

Artemis fell lip in his arms "that girl" she whispered "she's given up"

Kale held her close rubbing her back. "Maybe...maybe we can coax her to not give up..."

The small shard of Peter's mind prodded at Artemis weakly, begging for her attention.

Artemis frowned, "us? if she was anything like... me, we'll need the boy.."
She smiled, feeling the boy come to life a little again and prod her "yes?" she asked him

"....help me?...please?...my concious is shattered..." Peter tried to say as he fought to keep the connection. "Please?...I love her...I can't leave her here alone...."

Kale watched her curiously.

"Help you? I, I don't know how," she squeaked, becoming panicked. She looked to Kale, trembling slightly

Kale watched her, "what's wrong?" he asked as his eyes searched her face, his arms still wrapped tightly around her.

Peter pulled her concious to the healing part of his brain. "Heal me?"

Artemis started to freak, "I, I don't know how!" she exclaimed, both body and mind

"Just tell it to heal...please..." Peter's voice had a small plea to it as he reached out with another shard of his concious and searched for Gabrielle, prodding at her mind insistantly.

"What's wrong?" Kale asked as he watched her, holding her close.

Gabrielle was too far gone to feel such a faint presence . her baby was dead, Peter had just died on her. what did it matter?

Artemis continued to panic, "heal!" she demanded, gripping Kale tightly

Peter's concious jumped slightly, but his body began to heal itself, his concious coming together slowly. "Thank you." His concious sounding stronger. He prodded more intensly at Gabrielle's mind as he continued to heal.

Kale held her close, not sure what to do.

Gabrielle felt the prodding but ignored it, putting up a block and remaining in her misery

Artemis blinked, pulling out of it an looking to kales, yearning for comfort

Kale's mind embraced her, filling her with any comfort he could offer, telling her small stories as he held her tightly.

Peter growled in his mind and went back to prodding her mind, finding a way around the block.

Gabrielle finally acknowledged the prodding, "leave me be" she begged, not bothering to see who it was

Mirissa looked at them, "Do you want me to heal the girl first?" She asked having no idea what was going on with them, all the healing and junk. "He wouldn't let me help him earlier.

Artemis swallowed hard "please"

Kale nodded. "The girl first." He murmered, still holding tight to Artemis.

"I won't leave you Gabrielle..." Peter said, happily she finally acknowledged him.

Gabrielle was still too lost in herself to realize who it was in her mind "why?"
her voice came out pained

(it's fine )

"Because I love you." Peter said, still clinging to the connection as his concious got slightly stronger.

(sorry, I was finding out funeral stuff)

"that is foolish of you" She scoffed, her voice becoming fainter

"Why is is foolish? Is it because you are scared?" Peter said, taunting her. She had enough of a temper that he was sure it would pull her at least somewhat out of her....pitty party.

It worked "YOU KNOW NOTHING OF WHAT YOU SPEAK" Gabrielle screamed, throwing her whole being into attacking the mind who said that, still out of it, her grief taking over

Peter's mind caught hold of her concious, holding it tight. "Gabrielle, calm down. It's me..it's Peter."

Gabrielle recoiled, her thoughts jumbling and causing her to think they were still in the cell and she, still under that potions influence. She was very near losing it to say the least.
"have you.. stopped me?" she whispered, trying to keep their conscous's from touching as much as possible. shame and self loathing filled her for her actions

"Yes, I stopped you." Peter responded. "It's ok, Gabrielle, it's ok." Peter woke up and forced himself off the couch(that does not look right...but I can't remember how to spell it....gah my brain feels so fried) and down the hall, stumbling as he went, following the her mind to the room where she was. He fell to his knees by her bed, brushing the hair from her face. "Come back Gabrielle...please?"
