Wishing stars

Lucia squeezed him a little tighter, her hands rubbing his back. She just wanted to tell him it would all be okay and that nothing bad was going to happen. Tomorrow was sure to be stressful, that was for sure. "I love you," she said quietly.

"I love you, too," Tucker said quietly, taking a deep breath. Bailey came tromping in with her boots on the wrong feet.
"I'm ready daddy!" She said with her bright smile.

Lucia kissed Tucker gently and then let him go of him, fixing Bailey's boots with a big smile. She moved back, appraising her with a nod and then looked back at Tucker, her heart melting just a bit. For some reason, she felt like she was here, with family.

"Let's go fix that ***** bailer!" Bailey said with a large smile, feeling all grown up for using that word. Tucker's eyes got wide in shock as he blinked a few times, trying not to laugh.
"Bailey, were'd you learn that word?"
"Donny said it when the hay felled off the truck." She was still smiling widely. Tucker couldn't help the small chuckle that escaped him. He shook his head and sighed as he watched her.
"That's not a nice word, we don't say it. Ok?"
"Ok..." Bailey's face fell, a pout forming on her lips. She had thought she was doing something good.

Lucia bit her lips, her expression nearly matching Tucker's.
She hadn't been expecting to hear that from Bailey, but for some reason, it was refreshing. The harsh language brought some color to her face.
"Is there anything I could do?" Lucia asked. She had been eyeing the stack of dishes that had been growing.

"You can come with us if you'd like to," Tucker said as he pulled his boots back on. "We gotta run to the hardware store and get some parts before we can fix the bailer. And I was going to pick up some groceries."

Lucia chuckled and nodded. "Okay," she said with a smile.
She slipped into her strappy sandals and followed him out to the car, waiting as he strapped Bailey into her carseat and then she slipped into the passagner seat, holding her purse tight in her hand. Maybe she'd do some baking.

Tucker got into the front seat and backed out of the garage and headed out of the driveway, reaching town a bit later. He parked outside of the hardware store and ran a hand through his hair and looked back at Bailey. "Ready to go see Bear?"
"Ya!" She exclaimed happily. He chuckled and unbuckled her and she quickly climbed over and into his lap. "Ready?" he asked Lucia.

Lucia pursed her lips. "Bear?" She asked, raising an eyebrow. She nodded and got out of the car, nonetheless, even though she was slightly confused. She couldn't help but smile when Bailey clung to Tucker.

Tucker lifted her up and out of the seat, walking over to Lucia and wrapping an arm around her waist, smiling at her. "Bailey's gaurdian. He's a family friend, real good guy." Tucker set Bailey down as soon as they were in the store. A big burly man with a beard poked his head around the shelvs, immediately smiling widely when he saw Tucker and Bailey.
"BEAR!" Bailey squealed happily, running to him. The man stepped out and picked her up and chuckled.
"Well hey there, how's my little honeysuckle?" He chuckled, Bailey giggling happily as she played with his beard.
"The bailer needs fixed." She said with a very serious look on her face.

Lucia smiled as Tucker wrapped his arm around her waist and was led inside. The mad seemed like her old preconcetion of what a lumberjack was. Bailey seemed to love him the man, her face was clearly expressive. The little girl made Lucia want to laugh every time she spoke. It was the little kid, garbled English that she loved so much.

"Is that Bailey?" Came a bubbly voice from the back room. A woman poked her head out from behind the door, her eyes lighting up. "Bailey!" She quickly hurried over to her and Bear and smiled.
"Merridef!" Bailey said happily and poked the woman's nose.

Tucker chuckled as he watched them. "We're gonna go look for the part, we'll be right back." He led Lucia down the rows as he scanned the shelves(bah I can't spell)

Lucia smiled as he led her around the hardware store. She took a deep breath and noticed it smelled like oil... And paint.She didn't think she had ever been in a store like this before. She glanced up at Tucker and then back at the shelves.

Tucker lead her to just about the very back of the store, bringing her infront of him as he scanned the shelves. He glanced down at her and raised a brow. "You got somethin' on your face," he murmered. "Here, I'll get it," he said and kissed her.

Lucia smiled, kissing him back. There was a thrill that went through her from kissing him in such an public place. He didn't seem to have any qualms about it, either and it seemed to keep him distracted, so she happily obliged. She ran her hand over his neck and pulled back a bit, chuckling. "Is it gone?" She asked.

Tucker shook his head slightly, "no, still there." He kissed her again, pulling her close to him, pressing her body to his. That was better. He liked having her so close. He deepend the kiss slightly, his hands brushing under her shirt, across her lower back.

Lucia wanted to grin under his lips, but focused more one kissing him back. Her hands ran over his chest, gripping the thin fabric of his shirt. She shuddered slightly when his hands touched her bare skin and she kissed him back a little bit harder.

Tucker smiled slightly as he kissed her back, his hands sliding down to where her pockets ought to be, pressing her closer. He pulled away slightly, his breathing slightly ragged. "Love you," he murmered, his forehead resting against hers.

Lucia smiled a little as she rested her hands on his neck. "Love you, too," she said, her smiled only growing. It was so true. She loved him with all of her being, more than she thought she could. Her breathing had finally evened out and she chuckled softly, her hand running across his face, her thumb across his cheek.

Tucker smiled, kissing her again gently before he sighed and pulled away, reaching onto the shelf and grabbing the part that had been sitting right there the whole time. He winked at her, kissed her neck, then led her back to the front, his hand still where her pocket should be.

Lucia rolled her eyes teasingly and walked out front, smoothing the front of her white v-neck shirt. She stole glanced at Tucker occasionally and her cheeks would heat. Those were the moments that reminded her she was still an 18 year old girl and he was still an 18 year old boy.

Tucker purchased the part and managed to pry Bailey away from Bear and Merrideth. He took them back to the car and put Bailey in her carseat, and got in, driving them to the grocery store. Although he still felt the loss of his Gran strongly, with Lucia there it wasn't as bad as it could have been. He felt like he could actually survive it. He almost forgot they were only 18. That they hadn't been married for fifteen years, that they weren't even married at all. He felt like she was his family too, and an important part of it at that.

Lucia leaned back into the seat, smoothing out her light blue skirt. The gorcery store wasn't very far. They parked and she turned to Tucker. "I'm gonna split and pick up a few things for baking," she smiled, sliding out of the car. "I'll meet
you at the front of the store," she said as they walked in.

Tucker gave a small nod, kissing her forehead gently. He then turned and put Bailey in a cart and headed off towards the refrigerated section.

Lucia smiled and headed for the baking section. She picked out a basketful of things including frostings and sprinkles and other sweets to decorate. She also got a set of cookie cutters and checked out, heading for the front of the son.
