Jude: "So yesterday you smelled like weed," I said quickly. "Do you smoke it?" Might as well be straightforward instead of beating around the bush.

Jillian: I almost began cracking up. "Of course not!" and left it at that. Hopefully, he wouldn't ask why I DID smell like weed.

Iliana: I wanted to glare at Ms. Hall. Though she wasn't lying, she was obviously hiding something. And if I found any evidence that she knew of a source to buy weed then I'd have to report her. And I didn't want to do that, especially since she was only 20-something, and shouldn't be wasting away in a cell. "Why did you smell like weed, then? Did you break up a druggie fight in the back of the school?" I offered her an excuse, hoping she'd take it.

Jillian: I sighed, not wanting to lie. "No. I'll tell you, but you can't tell anyone else, okay?" I stared at them sincerely.

Jude: I nodded immediately and stared at Iliana, waiting for her to agree.

Iliana: Gah, why couldn't she have gone along with it? I'd given her the perfect ticket out. And I couldn't stand here and act as if I'd keep her secret, that wasn't fair to her. I didn't meet Jude's stare, but made a noise "mmmmm." That could be interpreted as 'okay, I won't tell', but didn't force me to promise anything.

Jillian: "My ex-boyfriend was a pothead." I said simply. "I broke up with him in that shirt I was wearing the other day. Sorry about that, I meant to wash it."

Jude: "Thats cool. I was just wondering," I said, shooting Iliana a glance.

Iliana: "I see. Well, that's all we wanted to know, so..." I might be able to play that off as a joke, as if she were just angry with her ex and was calling him names. Yep, that's what happened. I let out a small laugh, putting on the act that I thought she was joking. Now if we could escape before she caught on...

Jillian: I stared at her, eyes stone-cold. "Im serious. He had about 3 leaves a day. I'm not... making this up or whatever." So my tone couldve been softer, just because I was talking to a student, but this wasn't a light subject.

Jude: I sensed Jillian's tenseness (word?) and tugged on Iliana's sleeve. "Of course you're serious. But we really need to go-"

Jillian: my eyes softened when I looked jude. "Of course. Go on."

Iliana: I sighed in relief when I shut the door behind Jude and I as we left. She had been so close to telling us too much. Enough that I would have had to report her claim. But I didn't have to now. I could pretend I hadn't even heard a word she said.

(I don't know if it is, but we can pretend, haha)

Jude: "Pothead boyfriend, huh? How would you react if I started smoking pot?" I asked, thinking of her growing a large head and screaming at me so hard the whole earth shook. I couldn't help but laugh at the picture.

Iliana: I shivered. Not only would that seriously mess up Jude, but that would also put me in a terrible position: to tell or not to tell. Thank goodness there was no chance of him ever doing pot. Well, not unless something major happened to make him resort to that. "Just...don't. We have to get to history, Ms. Hall's little revelation is causing us to run late."

Jude: "Meh. Johnson's crazy old, I doubt he'll notice," I said with a shrug. I grabbed her hand and began sprinting anyway. "Ugh. Pot would seriously screw with me wouldn't it?" I said, really thinking about it. I had tried smoking... I tried it for about a month after Amy died. But Iliana didn't need to know that. It wasn't even major. Maybe one or two cigarettes every week.

(Uh-oh. That'll create a little drama if she ever finds out :O. So that means it must happen, haha)

Iliana: "Yeah, then you'd probably see Am-" I cut off. I had been about to say he'd probably see Amy 24/7, but realized Jude hadn't brought her up since that one time. Probably on purpose, because who wanted to talk about their dead sister. I started over "Yes, it'd screw you bad. Your grades would drop, and your skin would get a hollow look, and you'd have hallucinations..." Like hallucinations about Amy, but maybe even worse. Though I'd never say that to Jude.

Jude: "Smoking's bad." Especially of you were only ten... I thought to my self, jaw locking. We walked into the class and I took an empty seat, suddenly bothered. I was such a stupid kid. I mean, smoking? At teen years? I realized that my fling with Marlboro was probably why I had kept thinking and conjuring Amy up. I shuddered when I thought I saw her in the desk next to be, but it turned out to be Iliana. Just Iliana.

Iliana: My brow furrowed when Jude shuddered at the sight of me. "I keep telling you that I'm not pretty enough for you!" I tried to play it down, but I had a feeling this didn't have to do with me. "What's wrong Jude?"

Jude: I realized how wrong it might've been to shudder at 'Iliana.' "You're beautful," I said with a grin. "Nothings wrong." in the present. The past is pretty messed you. But she never specified. "Im just picturing myself smoking." Again.

('the past is pretty messed you', what does that mean?)

Iliana: I blushed slightly at Jude calling me 'beautiful'. Guys never seemed to call girls beautiful if they didn't mean it. But he just randomly said it, so I wasn't sure if he really meant it. Oh well, there were more important things to worry about. I blinked, imagining Jude smoking. That image was completely wrong, Jude wasn't the type. "That's hard to picture."

I think I meant to put 'messed up'.... AHHH IM SO MESSED YOU! XD

Jude:Not for me... "Yeah I guess. I don't know. It's not THAT hard." I shrugged and tried to listen and learn about the Louisiana Purchase, but who honestly cares about that? I mean, come one... I wonder how much smoke's screwed me up. Even if I had just smoked a total of 8 or 10 cigarettes in my life. What if I went back? No, I wouldn't. I shouldn't. Couldn't.

Iliana: I side-glanced at Jude suspiciously as I listened to the lecture. "How come you can picture it more easily? Jude..."

Jude: I thought of an easy lie. "I used to live in the city of Chicago, Iliana, I saw people my age then smoking every day. It's easier to picture myself doing that because I know what it looks like." And also because I've done it too, but I left that part out. "Chicago's a nice place. Just too many kids on the street."

Iliana: My eyes narrowed, as I captured the signs of lying that I had learned from a specialist. Glancing to the left, any sort of twitching, and words coming out too quickly. Jude had done a little of all of those. "I can't believe you'd lie to me Jude." I turned back to my notes, slightly upset with Jude ((drama, drama, drama. Maybrook is a big soap opera )). I thought that he trusted me. He always had, since forever. Well, since we'd been friends, which felt like forever. He'd told me about his sister, what was he covering up now?

Jude: "What're you smoking?" I asked, smiling at the pun. "Im not lying." And I technically wasn't, I was just... Curving around the hard truth, is all. And anyway, she wouldn't tell me her secret, I won't tell her mine. Not that easily, at least.

Iliana: "Another lie. Just keep digging yourself a deeper ditch." I rolled my eyes. "Part of my training is in lie detection, don't even try it."

Jude: "There is no ditch to dig into, hon. I'm telling you the truth. Chicago is swarming with... thirteen year old potheads and ten-year-old... crack addicts. Sad truth." Now THAT was the whole truth. It was general, not specific. "Shoulda seen my best friend back there. Really twisted. His dad gave him crack."

Iliana: "Mmhmm, sure. Let me know when you're planning on telling me the rest of the story, 'kay? When you trust me again, like you use to. Obviously you don't think I can keep a secret anymore, for whatever reason." I slammed my binder closed, probably a little harder than necessary, and shoved it in my backpack. Then I walked out the classroom door, wishing I could slam it.
