Fay gave a small shrug. "Around," she said softly and looked up at him. "I don't really know the place...so I can't say where," she gave a small smile, trying to lighten the mood. "I just...need out of the house for a bit."

Johnny smiled back, nodding. "Heh...well...neither do I...I only know by exploring, there's a playground, we could go there?"

Fay blinked and stared at him, tilting her head slightly. "Playground? What's that?" she asked curiously, her eyes lighting up just slightly. "We could go there..I've never seen one before."

"you've never been to one? Wow...sure, I'll show you where it is." he said, leading her to a park not to far from the town.

Fay followed quietly for a long while then glanced at him. "So...what happened back there?" She asked, wondering about the whole episode with Autumn.

"oh...I was just...worried...I blew my top. I shouldn't have done that, I upset Autumn, you, and the others. I'm sorry." he said

Fay raised her brow and stared at him. "I think that was more than just normal worry.." she said softly.

"I just...didn't want her to get hurt," Johnny said, shrugging it off. A pink tinge creeping at his cheeks.

"Well, of course. None of us do," Fay said as she watched him, tilting her head slightly. "But...I don't think most of us get /that/ worried...as worried as Fred does around me." She raised her brow. "I think it might be more than that."

"Psh...are you saying I have feelings for Autumn? Nononononono I...." Johnny said, rubbing his neck awkwardly. His face as red as a tomato. "No, we're just friends....just friends...."

Fay sighed and rolled her eyes. "You like her and you know it," she said, patting his arm. "It's ok. Unrequited love is never a fun thing, but I bet...I bet she likes you too."

"...she doesn't. She likes some guy named Huck, the guy we saw back there. She meantioned his name once, said she liked him even. Right before I was gonna tell her...how...I...felt...but...I didn't...."

Fay sighed and watched him for a moment before she slipped her arm through his. "Maybe you should tell her anyway," she said softly.


Huck came around the house later while Johnny and Fay were gone. He stayed in the shadows of the trees and just stared at it, unsure of what exactly he was doing there.

"Maybe," Johnny mumbled, patting Fay's arm. "Wanna go on the swings?" he asked, hoping to get the subject off of his feelings.

Autumn came out, tired of Fred, Ben, and Nash trying to calm her down. She was still angry at Johnny, why did he care what she did? Pulling out a book, she sat on the ground and leaned against a tree. Reading always seemed to help...

Huck watched her come out and raised a brow, cocking his head to the side slightly. He made his way over to the tree behind her and dropped the book of poems she had left him beside her, retreating back into the shadows again.


"Swings?" Fay asked, looking confused.


A girl was sitting at the park, her feet dangling as she sat on one of the swings. She stared at her hands, her white summer dress looking dirty and torn as her dirty blonde hair hung in her face.

"Come on, I'll show you." Johnny said, grinning a bit. He dragged her over, his smile fading at the sight of the girl. "Are you alright?" he asked, concerned.

Autumn looked up, seeing the book drop from nowhere. She glanced around, picking it up. "Huck?"

Huck stayed in the shadows but stepped forward slightly.
"Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice..."



The girl's head shot up, her grey eyes wide as she stared at Fay and Johnny. She didn't say anything, to scared to move. Where they here for her? Were they going to hurt her too?

"That's Fire and Ice, one of my favorites..." Autumn said, blinking at the shape in the trees.

"Hey, hey it's okay. Are you alright? Where are your parents?" Johnny asked, letting go of Fay and kneeling down in front of the girl. "I'm Johnny."

Huck gave a small nod. "It was well written," he said softly. "I apologize for earlier." He made no move to come out of the shadows or come closer to her.


The girl stared at Johnny, looking about 16, perhaps a little older. "I-I" she stuttered and scooted back away from him, her grey eyes still wide. "G-gone."

"...it's not your fault Huck...are you alright?" She asked, looking at where she assumed him to be.

"Do you have anywhere to stay? Anyone to take care of you?" Johnny asked, biting his lip. "I'm not here to hurt you," he added softly.

The girl shook her head as she stared at him, her eyes flickering between Johnny and Fay. She sorta flinched away, purple bruises visible against her skin on her upper arms and neck, her skin a blue-ish color from the cold. "D-don-t h-hurt m-me," she said, her voice barely a whisper despite the fact that he had just told her he wouldn't.


"I..am better," Huck said, not exactly sure what the full implications of her question was. "Still sore."

Johnny's eyes took in everything, from the bruises to the blue-ish tinge of her skin. He frowned, his mind running over the possibilities of what could happen to her if they just left her. "what if I could tell you I could give you a home?"

"I'm sorry, " Autumn said, frowning slightly and feeling as if it was her fault.

"For what?" Huck asked, confusion coloring his voice.

The girl stared at him, not trusting him very much. "Y-you c-could?" She asked cautiously.

"I guess...for you getting hurt and hungry," she said, "you shouldn't have tried so hard."

"Yup, I've been in your shoes. Are you hungry?"

The girl shifted and gave a small nod. "Y-yes.." she said as she stared at him, still unsure if he was one of those mean men that would hurt her.

Huck blinked a few times then sighed. "It is not your fault you are...desirable to the senses."
