Late Night Bite

Vincent: "Sun allergies," I say. "Really severe ones that make me cook with any bit of sun. They gave it a huge name, but like hell if I'd remember that."

Daisy: "I noticed," I say, thinking about how I was almost the one to come after her. I was almost the one literally thrown out. "But maybe you were a little harsh on her? I mean, I know what it's like to have to protect someone, especially someone who seems to have a death wish. But what happened wasn't her fault."

Kyle - "She always does the most stupid thing!" I complain. "You really do know what it's like don't you?" I smile.

Anastasia - "That sucks," I frown. "Is Daisy your um, girlfriend?" I wonder.

Vincent: "Hm...that's a good question. I think we're more like brother and sister. I mean, she nags me, I bug her. I make her sleep in the same room as me, but that's just me being...well, me, I guess. So, no. I guess she's like my mom since mine didn't seem to give a fuck."

Daisy: I smile. "After being around someone like Vincent for eight years, you learn a thing or two. The day I met him, he tricked me into letting him outside in the day time. It was...bad, as you can guess."

Kyle - "Anastasia came to the bar on accident, like most humans, except hers had an almost deadly consequence. I smelled her instantly, like all the others did, but I didn't want to kill her, I knew that she would be useful for me to keep. She almost died until I saved her, so now she owes her life to me," I explain.

Anastasia - "Good," I say before realizing that I said that out loud, "I mean.." I stumble.

Vincent: I laugh. "You say that now." I start sitting up. "I've had a few girlfriends, but let's just say that they all seemed to evaporate by morning. I'm don't look too nice hanging on a girl's arm in the middle of May with ten pounds of clothes on."

Daisy: "So you keep her as your slave?" I say softly. "She may owe you her life, but I just think you may be stretching her gratitude."

Anastasia - "Not like I get to go out a lot anyway," I smile.

Kyle - "You don't understand Daisy," I sigh, "I need her! I need her blood, it makes me powerful, more powerful than anyone else! I NEED HER!"

Vincent: I smile. "Yea, this is my first real time out of the house. But I guess getting kicked out has it's benefits, huh?"

Daisy: My eyes widen. "So, you want to use ge then? Is she just some pawn in your own games to give you power? She's a person, not an energy drink! How do you think she feels being trapped in some place where she has no say in what happens to her?"

Kyle - "She has everything she could ever want other than freedom," I say.

Anastasia - "Why would you get kicked out?" I asked.

Daisy: I sigh. "Freedom is the only thing worth having, Kyle. What'll you do with diamond rings and new clothes if you can't even choose when you wear them? Or a trip to France if you're monitored every second? All the riches in the world are as worthless as dirt when you aren't free to do what you want."

Vincent: "My mom died. She may have been a plastic Barbie, but she was the only one keeping me in that house.

Kyle - "I can't let her leave," I say shaking my head.

Anastasia - "I'm sorry," i say sadly.

Daisy: I clench my fists. "Why? She deserves better than life in a coffin!"

Vincent: "Don't be," I say frankly. "It isn't even that big of a deal. Just my dad deciding go clean house."

Kyle - "because I'll die without her! Literally!"I growl.

Anastasia - "And that meant you?"

Daisy: "Well, there are better ways of going about this!" I say. "If I had to keep Vincent or any human locked away because I was afraid of dying, then I'd choose death! To take someone else's life away when I've already lived...that's selfish and inconsiderate and I couldn't do it!" I stop as my voice cracks. I don't realize I'd been yelling until I raise a shaking hand to my forehead. "I'm sorry, Mr. Kyle, but I think Vincent and I will have to leave earlier than expected. I think his aunt has a summer house in Florida we can rent, so don't think that we'll be out on the street." And with that, I turn around and start heading for the door.

Vincent: "Yep, pretty much."

Kyle - I sighed, she didn't understand, no one did. I knew I was selfish, and I was fine with that.

Anastasia - "That's terrible," I frown.

Vincent: I'm about to say something when I see Daisy fuming as she stomps down the hall. I don't think I've seen her this mad since the day I met her. "Hey, Daze. Are you ok?" "C'mon!" she says. "I refuse to stay here with someone so pig headed, so blatantly selfish, as him! I'll get the things, so meet me in the limo!" My eyes widen. "W-what? Daisy, tell me what's going on!"

Anastasia - I purse my lips angrily. Kyle has ruined a friendship for me, again! "Please, what happened?" I ask.

Daisy: I stop and turn around, feeling a few tears running down my face. "I am sorry," I say to the girl. "I tried to tell him that he was over reacting, that freedom is more important than anything he could buy! I tried, I really did, but nothing gets through to him! He's the kind of person who listens to what he wants to listen to and-" I stop and turn towards the window. The sun is starting to come up...

Anastasia - "It's not your fault," I say quickly, "Don't go because of him, he won't bother you!"

Daisy: "But I don't know if I can just stand around here and do nothing about this!" Vincent's eyes follow what I was looking at and he smiles. "I guess we don't have a choice now! Time to get suited up!" he grind at me and I sigh. "One extra day, Vincent. Just one."

Anastasia - I sigh, "Of course," I say.

Vincent: "Wooh, then it's settled! I have one day and only one day to convince you to let me stay longer!" "That's not what I meant, Vin-" "That isn't what you didn't mean!" I hop up off the floor and then stumble back, grinning up at her when she catches me from falling. I'm still pretty dizzy. "And now to get high..." Daisy sticks out her tongue but helps me stand back up. "Ol, c'mon." I turn around and look at Anastasia. "Hey, you wanna come?"

Anastasia - I smile, "Yeah, I have no where else to be!"

Daisy: I sigh, my mind still buzzing about what Kyle just said. I don't care how he feels about her or what he needs her for- she's a human being! She needs freedom! "Red pills?" I ask. "Check." "Blue pills?" "Check." "Little white pills?" "Check." "Huge green ones?" He frowns and hold them up. "Do I really have to take these?" "Yes." He sighs and downs them as well, slamming the cup of water one the table. "Check." "Here's your things. I think that's the bathroom over there." he nods and picks up his suitcase, leaving Anastasia and I with our thoughts.

Anastasia - I feel the tension in the room and look at her, "What happened?" I asked.

Daisy: I run my fingers through my hair and close my eyes. "Basically, he said you were his property and you don't need freedom because he needs you."
