Young Justice!

Spades:
I sat on the edge of my bed, clutching a phone in one hand like it was a snake. I had finally gathered up the courage to call Cissie about the breakup, maybe she'd have some advice, or something... I had been coping, for sure, but... it was hard knowing that no matter what you did, you'd never be quite good enough for the guy you loved. And he finally seemed to realize it. Tentatively, I dialed the numbers and put the phone to my ear, waiting for her to pick up.

Cissie
I forgot how boring normal life is... And homework was a killer. For sure. Didn't know how Grayson did it... With a groan of annoyance I snap the book closed and bury my face in my pillow. My phone buzzes and I contumplate ignoring it, just going to sleep for a while. Another buzz... I glance over. Another buzz... Fine... I reach over to my bedside table and open it, Beth's name flashing quickly before I press the little green button. "Hey, cards. What's up?"

Spades
I cleared my throat, searching for the right words. "I was hoping I could maybe get some advice" I said carefully, running my free hand through my hair. "I didn't interrupt anything, did I?"

Cissie
"No. Contumplating a nap, but I'll talk," I say, rolling over to my back and staring up at the ceiling. "How have you been?"

Spades
"Not great" My voice cracked in just the slightest of ways, then I grimaced. It's for the best, it's for the best... I repeated my new silent mantra in my head a couple of more times, swallowing a lump in my throat. How can something that's for the best hurt so much?

Cissie
I pause, hearing something off in her voice. "What's wrong, cards?" I ask carefully, eyebrows knitting together slightly concerned. "You can tell me, don't worry. I'll listen."

Spades
"It's for the best... I think..." I paused with a sigh, closing my eyes "Robin broke up with me"

Cissie
I pause, thinking over her words. Grayson...broke up with her....sigh....the idiot. "Need me to come over?" I ask gently.

Spades:
"No. It's fine. I just... don't know what to do from here..." I admitted "I mean, I still..." love him... "and..." I wasn't used to being at an utter loss for words

Cissie
I sit up slowly. "Well what'd he say?" I ask carefully, getting up and putting my shoes on while holding my phone with my shoulder. Getting my bag and keys quietly before walking out of my dorm.

Spades
"Well... he was nice about it. He's nice about everything" I mumbled "My instinct tells me there's another girl. And that's fine, it's not like he'd want to be stuck to the death card all his life" I said, with a tiny, bitter, laugh

Cissie
I sigh, going down the stairway to my car, getting in. "Kiddo, don't say that. He cares about you, he does. He...must have had his reasons though..."

Spades
"It's fine, Ciss... I understand, I told you that.. I just... I don't know... I thought..." I pinched the bridge of my nose

Cissie
"Yeah well... Grayson just thinks differently from other guys. He has to see the big picture and not the one path. He /is/ thinking for you, Beth. Just..." I sigh, putting my phone on speaker before pulling out, heading to the supermarket.

Spades
"I know... I know.. but... it hurts..." I took a deep breath "I'll call you sometime later, okay? I'm going to go take a walk or something"

Cissie
I sigh. "Alright, cards. Talk to you soon, kay?" I say gently, flipping my phone shut.

Spades
I laid down on the prison cot, my back cracking. Can't believe the old clown abandoned me. Well... actually, I can.
Since he does it all the time.
I sighed, my hands twitching as I longed for a deck of cards to shuffle. Maybe I'd just take a breather before jumping back out into the middle of the madness...
I smirked involuntarily as I traced a newly formed bruise on my forearm.

Quincy
Hm. Saturday afternoon and not a thing to do... When the hell did that happen? PSH, never. So, sure....mess with police. One of those 'what could /possibly/ go wrong?' moments.
Hands in my sweatshirt pockets, I survey the building from the other side of the street. Lights to go out first, whatever the heck I want to happen next. Fun, real fun.
I grin, go across and enter, and before any of the busy bees notice me I lay a hand on the light switch and blubs start popping from the overload.
Now they notice me, raise tazers or guns. "Please..." I hold a hand out, sending them to the ground paralyzed. Or maybe dead, who knew?

Spades
I sat up the second the lights went out with the sound of shattering glass. What the...? Then I glanced through the dimmed light of the station...there was some girl beating on the cops! I laughed.
"Nice one. Show the pigs' who's boss" I laughed again, standing up and walking over to the bars of the cell. A cop was laying just in my reach, and from the looks of it, he had a key set on him... "Don't mind if I do" I muttered with a smile, slipping my arm through the bars and grabbing the keys. Once I was free, I walked out of the cell.

Quincy
And they just kept coming, the idiots. Like animals to the slaughter house, all in line ready to get knocked on their asses. And then a girl. I had seen her in the papers, of course. Who couldn't recognize the Joker's little playing card. Wouldn't be a boring Saturday at all!

Spades
I grabbed the hand of the nearest guy and twisted it far behind his back, hearing a crack come from his shoulder blade. Then I grabbed the back of his head and smashed it into a wall. He was out like a light before he knew what was going on. Not exactly sending in their 'A' team, huh? Now... gotta find my cards...
I slid behind a desk, shifting through the drawers.

Quincy
I glance over, zapping a guy coming up to her with a tazer. "Hey cards! You're deck's probably in the evidence room, you know. They keep all the fun crap in there." I dodge a stray bullet, ducking behind the desk she was riffling through with a grin. "What's the card to do without her fifty two?" I rhyme playfully.

Spades
"Ah. Good point... whoeveryouare..." I grabbed a stapler and rolled out from behind the desk, before springing to my feet and bringing it crashing down into the face of one of the policemen. Next I kicked him between the legs, and smashed him in the back of the skull with the stapler. All the while, my laughter echoed through the room, reverberating off the walls. "NOW it's a party!"

Quincy
My God. This girl was just as awesome as the papers say. I giggle, grow to a laugh like hers. "Quincy Adams, cards. Just came over from Metro." After escaping from Mother's over there, the wound on my throat still scabbed over beneath my sweatshirt. I hold my hand up to the ceiling, popping the remaining bulbs and leaving us in darkness. The remaining police thrown into confusion as I get up, giggling again, gesturing over to the back and evidence room with my chin. "Well? Age before beauty..."
