Re: Wishing stars
Jaxon: I bent down and picked her up, setting her in the backseat. After taking a moment to wipe up her blood with my shirt, I drove to the hospital as quickly as I could, glancing over my shoulder every so often to make sure she still seemed okay. What if she died on me while I was driving her to the hospital? No, don't think about that...
Re: Wishing stars
Jean floated in and out of conciousness on their way to the hospital. It all seemed so surreal.
*jumping ahead if that's ok*
Jean woke to a white room, an oxygen tube on her face, and her body hooked up to multiple wires and machines. She felt grogy, her mind in a dull haze. She let her eyes drop shut again, a small groan escaping her lips. Her body ached almost bad enough to cry.

Re: Wishing stars
(Well so basically Jaxon drove her to the hospital and they helped her regain consciousness? Would he be inside or outside the room?)
Re: Wishing stars
(alright)
Jaxon: I heard Jean sigh or something and stirred from the nap that I was trying to take. Why was I so drawn to a girl I barely knew? I glanced over at her and took her hand in mine, imagining she was probably a little scared, and rubbed it. "Hey."

Re: Wishing stars
Jean new that voice, she just couldn't put a name with it just yet. She turned her head towards the voice and forced her tired eyes open to find Jaxon and his warm hand covering hers which felt ice cold to her. "Hey," she croaked, her voice almost as groggy as her mind. "What happened?" she asked, not really remembering much except for his face and the worried glances she had occassionally caught from him.

Re: Wishing stars
Jaxon: I rubbed her hand, looking away for a moment before speaking. "You fainted again," I said. "I drove you here since you were supposed to come for an appointment anyway. How are you feeling?"
Re: Wishing stars
Jean watched him for a moment and gave a small smile. "I've been through worse I guess," she said after clearing her throat, her voice sounding a bit better now. It wasn't really true though. She hadn't been through worse pain than this...yet. "Thank you," she said after a moment and gave his hand a tired squeeze. "I'm sorry you had to see that...this.."

Re: Wishing stars
Jaxon: "It's fine," I said. "It's not like you could help it." At least I was here for her. If I wasn't here, who would be? That must be a really scary thought for someone who didn't have a long time left. "Do you need anything?" I asked her, squeezing her hand gently.
Re: Wishing stars
Jean looked at him, her eyes searching his. Why was he being so kind to her? Why was he staying? Was it just because he felt bad for her? Probably..."The doctor?" she asked a little uncertainly, not exactly sure she wanted to hear what he had to say. "A-and...I know you've done a lot already....but...will you stay with me?" Her eyes betrayed her, showing the fear she had kept hidden so well.

Re: Wishing stars
Jaxon: "I'll go get him," I said, standing up. "And I can stay as long as you need me to. My parents won't miss me." Ever since everything happened a few years ago, I was pretty sure they were trying not to get too close to me in case something happened to me.
Re: Wishing stars
Jean watched him and gave a small nod, reluctant to let his hand go. "You sure?" she asked, biting her lip slightly, not wanting to get him in trouble. She let her hand drop to the bed next to her, not liking that his warmth was gone. She actually would have really liked to have cuddled him, but that was asking a little much.

Re: Wishing stars
Jaxon: I nodded. "I'm sure. I'll be right back, okay?" I didn't want to leave until I was absolutely sure she didn't mind me going, even if it was only for a little bit.
Re: Wishing stars
Jean gave a small nod, her fingers curling around the blanket so she at least had something to hold. She bit her lip as she watched him head for the door. "Jaxon?" She blushed slightly, feeling terrible. "I'm sorry...but could you get me another blanket? It's cold in here." She gave a soft apologetic smile and let her tired eyes drift shut. She wasn't falling asleep, just resting. It was going to take a lot to get her to sleep through the pain of her aching body.

Re: Wishing stars
Jaxon: I nodded. "Yeah. I'll see if the doctor can get one for you, all right?" With that, I walked out of the room and searched for a doctor, who went back with me immediately to Jean's room while a nurse got another blanket for her. I took a seat next to her again.
Re: Wishing stars
Jean forced her eyes open and looked at the doctor, her face serious. The doctor was looking over her sheet, though he had seen it many times before in the last little while. "How are you feeling Jean?"
"Just...tell me." She said rather abruptly and slightly impatiently. She didn't want to beat around the bush any more than was needed. The doctor watched her for a long moment and then took a deep breath.
"We're going to have to start it today," he said after a long moment. "As soon as possible."
Fear clutched at Jean, some of it leaking into her features. The nurse came in with a warm blanket, draping it over her, and then left. Jean's eyes never left the doctor, though she really wished Jaxon had a hold of her. Any part of her, it didn't matter to her. Just so she didn't feel so alone in this. She gave a small nod to the doctor who gave a nod back. "I'll send a nurse to prep you," he said quietly and then left. A tear rolled down her cheek as she watched the doctor leave. Her hair was going to be gone soon.

Re: Wishing stars
Jaxon: I took Jean's hand in mine again. At first, I was having a little trouble understanding what was going on, but now I knew. "Is there anything I can do for you?" I asked her, squeezing her hand since I didn't really know if I could do anything else for her. "Anyone you want me to call for you so they know what's going on? Anything I can do to make you feel a little more comfortable?" I wasn't stupid enough to think I could make her feel better. But I could try.
Re: Wishing stars
Jean looked over at him, bursting into tears. "Just hold me, please?" She asked as her body trembled from the force of her cries that she had kept back for so long. "I-I'm scared Jaxon. I really am. I don't know what to do." She took her hand from his and burried her face in her hands.

Re: Wishing stars
Jaxon: I wrapped my arms around her kind of awkwardly, rubbing her back. "I'm here for you," I said. "I don't know what I can say or do, but yes, I'll hold you." By holding her, it was like someone was holding me too. And I couldn't really ask for more than that.
Re: Wishing stars
Jean turned in to him, burrying her face in his chest. He was, once again, shirtless. She wondered how it always happened like this, but at the same time she just didn't care. She was happy to have him there. "I'm so scared," she whispered after a long moment of trying to make her tears stop. "And, I'm going to be bald." She wasn't scared of being bald, it was just another one of those things that was getting to her. She was going to be without her beautiful hair. She was going to be ugly. There was no way she'd get that first kiss marked off of her list now.

Re: Wishing stars
Jaxon: "Then we'll have to find you a really good wig," I said. "I'm sure we can get some good ones around here. If not, I'm sure we can find a way for you to get one." I rubbed her back. "Okay?"
Re: Wishing stars
Jean didn't say anything, her eyes locked on the door as the nurse came in. The nurse smiled at them both as she brought her cart with her. "You're going to have to follow me when we are done here, alright?" Jean gave a small nod, her hand moving to Jaxon's and gripping it tight as the nurse came closer to her.
A while later Jean was getting into a wheelchair, a cathader inserted into her chest. She looked up at Jaxon, her eyes once again betraying her and showing the fear that she felt. She didn't want to ask him to come because she didn't want him to feel obligated. Like he had to. But at the same time...she really wanted him to come with her.

Re: Wishing stars
(double checking)
Jaxon: I stood up as Jean was getting into the wheelchair. A nurse was probably going to wheel her, but I guessed I could walk with her. I shoved my hands in my pockets and stood by her for a moment.
