Alice walked into Canary's father's shop without realizing it. She was just strolling through town, trying to find something to do. And this shop looked well...it was better than sitting bored in her room! She looked around a second before noticing Canary, and then her face lit up. "Canary!"

"Alice! Decided to wander out of the noble life, huh?" She smiled and walked up to give her a hug. "Nice to see you."

Alice squeezed Canary then pulled back and looked once more around the shop, her smile fading into a half-grimace. "You work here? It's so...dirty."

Canary sighed. "Well, it was neater until last night...but nevermind that. What brings you here?"

"Nothing much, the nobles are boring as usual. And I had to get away from all those suitors," Alice rolled her eyes as she prowled around the shop, examining things.

Canary smiled a little. Oh, what a tragedy. Canary hadn't had to deal with the suitor issue quite yet. "Have you met any you fancy?"

"None at all," Alice said wistfully, thinking of Simon. "Violet hasn't either. Most of them are stuck up, not that that bothers me. Violet's the one that cares about a heart of gold. She's such a hopeless case."

Canary nodded, smiling a little to herself about Edmund. "Guys like that are hard to find."

"What about you? Have you talked to Edmund recently?" Alice asked, admiring a necklace.

"Oh Alice, you know he's taken," Canary said, twisting her braid around a finger.

"Ridiculous labels," Alice waved away Canary's comment. "Lucy and Edmund will never work out."

Canary frowned. "How can you be so sure? They're getting married soon."
