Darkness Descends

Amelia sighed. "It isn't your place. I would tell you, but I don't even know your name." She took in a breath to calm herself. She watched him for a moment. "I'm Amelia."

Oliver chuckled. "True," he said. "My name's Oliver," he said with a slight smile. "Sorry for overstepping my boundaries."

Amelia smiled slightly. "Nice to meet ya Oliver. You weren't overstepping them. You were just curious. I'm sorry if I'm crabby, its just I normally heal faster." She shrugged.

"I figured as much," Oliver smile. "It must be nice, healing so quickly," he said, walking beside her as she continued to limp.

Amelia glanced at him, a slight smile on her lips. "How did you know? It is sometimes, but others, it's annoying."

MEgan shook her head. "You take the knife... I dont need it... I like my own glass knife thanks though." She smiled.

"I figured as much," Oliver smile. "It must be nice, healing so quickly," he said, walking beside her as she continued to limp.

Alexander shook his head. "Trust me, you need a back up weapon. Take the knife and I'll sharpen it for ya princess." Alexander watched her.

MEgan nodded and whispered. "Okay... and my name isnt princess... Megan... thats my name." She looked down her black hair covering her face.

Alexander nodded. "Alright Megan. I'm Alexander." He stood and took the knife. He moved to unlatch the door between the counter and the rest of the store. "Follow me, you can keep me company while I sharpen this."

Oliver raised an eyebrow. "Annoying? How so?" He asked, cocking his head toward her.

Amelia shook her head, a slight amused smile on her lips. "Like if I don't want to heal... Or when I have to explain the fact that I'm not human to someone." She shrugged.

"If you don't want to heal?" It seemed like an insane concept, not wanting to heal. Oliver couldn't seem to wrap his head around it. "Would you rather writhe in pain or something?"

Amelia just shook her head slightly. "Forget I said anything Oliver." She glanced at him. "So how did you know I was a werewolf?"

Oliver threw her a crooked grin. "I'm sensitive to other species, My mother was something called a Reader and it got passed down to me," he chuckled. She could tell species by a single glance, but it was no power. She had told him all about it, taught him how to do it. "You scream wolf."

Amelia nodded. "Ah. So what about me screams wolf?" She looked at him, an amused smile across her lips. The amusement also met her eyes. She raised an eyebrow slightly and wondered what his answer would be.

Oliver shrugged. "I dunno how to describe it... It's just something about you? Like, her, over there," he said, pointing to a normal looking girl on a corner. "She's an elemental," he said.

Amelia raised an eyebrow and looked in the girl's direction. She closed her eyes and took in a breath. She opened her eyes and glanced at Oliver. "You're right. Congratulations. How did ya know she was an elemental?"

"Same way I knew you were a wolf. I still can't describe it. It's something about how a person moves, looks, acts, I dunno." Oliver had never been able to figure out why he could tell, but he didn't hate it.

Amelia nodded. "Well, it's pretty cool. Can come in useful for you too." She glanced at him. "So why exactly were you so friendly when you first came over?" She blinked at at him.

"You're hurt and you're a female. That basically tells me not to be a complete douchebag," Oliver chuckled.

Amelia laughed too. "Well, I thank you for your kindness. It isn't too often that someone acts like that."

Oliver shrugged. "So... What happened?" He asked, his previus curiousity returning.

Amelia smiled slightly then sighed. "Hunters. That's what happened. I should have known better then to come back to the city." She shrugged and looked down.

Oliver pursed his lips. "Do you have a place outside of the city?" He asked. He had a vacation home outside the city, about twenty miles away. He knew it was a ridiculous thought, but he could give her the key.
