"No no, it's fine," she said with a smile, although she cringed inwardly that Lucy was there. No, she shouldn't dislike someone's presense. But something wasn't quite right about Edmund, he seemed...distant. "Are you alright?"

Lucy: It takes Edmund a moment to answer as though he were trying to figure out the answer. "Yes," he says finally.

Canary cocked her head and twisted her braid around a finger. "You're sure? You don't seem like you're quite awake. Perhaps it's just early," she said, and smiled, but it faded. She hoped he wasn't ill.

Lucy: "He said he was fine, did he not?" I ask calmly, hiding my smile behind my fan. "You need not worry about him. After all, you're neither his mother nor his wife."

"But I am his friend," Canary said.

Lucy: "And even friends can over step their boundaries. Now come along, Edmund." I gently tug on his arm and he turns away from her.

Canary watched them go, frowning a tad. Something was wrong with Edmund. She could see it in his eyes. They didn't have their usual glint, there weren't any thoughts behind them. But what could she do? She headed back on her way, only glancing back at them once. She puzzled, and started whistling again.

Canary ducked into her shop and turned the "closed" sign to "open", and then stopped in her tracks when she saw the mess from yesterday night. She sighed, and stooped to set things in order again, her mind elsewhere. She looked up to see William. "Oh!" She stood up. "Oh, I have got to put some new bells on the door. Hello, William."

William: "Hey," I say slowly, looking around at the mess. My eyes suddenly land on the blocks, standing in a straight line but moved so that the letters don't spell anything. After a moment, I bend down to help Canary. "What happened here?"

Ende? Somebody want Endeah?

"It's hard to explain," she said, thinking back to Mrs. Fitzgerald. She placed the things in their rightful place. "It seems like that's all I can say to a lot of things that've happened lately."
