Jesse: "Got it." I said, and nudged Thunder into a steady trot.

Melly: I nudged Waffles into following him.

Jesse: We trotted through town as people went about their business and the desert sun beamed down on us. "Where exactly are you from, Miss Melly?" I asked her.

Melly: "Hm? I'm from Florida."

Jesse: "Florida. I've always heard it was beautiful there."

Melly: "It is. And where are you from?"

Jesse: "Wyoming."

Melly: I nodded. "That's pretty far."

Jesse: "Florida's farther." I smiled.

Melly: I shrugged. "Yeah, but whatever. They're far away."

Jesse: "Yessiree." I said.

Melly: I sighed. "That's good. I ran away to get away."

Jesse: "I did kind of want to leave. But my parents kicked me out before I was ready."

Melly: "Well, you're here now, aren't you?"

Jesse: "Sure am."

Melly: "Then don't worry about it so much."

Jesse: "Never have." I smirked.

Melly: I laughed. "Good. Where are we going?"

Jesse: "Wherever the horses take us." I smiled.

Melly: I frowned. "Isn't that dangerous?"

Jesse: "You're out here now. Everything's dangerous. You just have to learn to live with it and enjoy it." I smirked.

Melly: I sighed. "Well..." I sighed. "You'll have to teach me."

Jesse: "I think I can do that, ma'am." I smiled, tipping my hat a little.

Melly: I laughed. "I really like your hat."
